Q :What's in John wick bullet proof suit ?
A: Keanu Reeves as John wick
This is the best answer
Jimbo Bimbo Take a joke nigga. And I have a bulletproof jacket so how are you going to say they don’t have bulletproof suits?
Wrong. Bulletproof suits exist. garrisonbespoke.com/custom-suits/bulletproof-suit/
"What's in John's bullet proof suit?"
_plot armour_
The strongest substance known to man.
Payday 2 dodge build
Not really. It's only strong enough for small caliber rounds, like from a pistol or smg. There is material thin enough to be used for that purpose.
If the John Wick franchise is known for anything, it would be its accuracy in firearms.
Nah it is just small Nokia brick phones

You were on point about John Wick's suit. While the bullets don't penetrate we actually get to see his bruises underneath the suit afterwards.
I think the tailor in the movie does say the trade off was "but it will hurt a lot"
"Quite painful, I'm afrad."
We actually have material now that has enough protection that they can stop 9mm pistol rounds. 2000$ in a polo tho and a 2500$ hoodie that can stop up to a 45 acp round (i think)
@UCV_jQe9f0MBOywCe93fD6Yg
There are ballistic suits at the moment yes. NIJ II, and up to NIJ IIIA compliant.
Yo guys I missed that thing, fuvk, I never knew he used bulletproof suits, can any1 tell me in which scene it has been mentioned abt their suits being bulletproof?
its soft body armor, for protection against pistol ammunition primarily. this can be done now to look like normal clothing, they even say as much in the film. Probably Aramid.
An armourer actually makes an Armani suit which is bulletproof up to 44 Magnum rounds. Sorry Kyle, but you got this one slightly wrong. 5.56 NATO rounds would probably kill Mr. Wick stone dead though.
@@whoofianbrony8804 That's why JW goes CQC and pistols most of the time, longer weapons are harder to handle in smaller envirovements, maybe is my headcannn tho
@@BoxFang Not necessarily harder to handle, but harder to maneuver. Like trying to drive a bus through a narrow alleyway.
Getting up really close to someone with a long weapon in a close combat situation will render them pretty ineffective.
Also the Armorier/Clothier says "It may sting" which implies they addressed the fact that most if not all of the kinetic strength would continue on. And for an assassin who is shot or stabbed, being bruised would probably "sting" compared to someone like you or me.
@@DwarfyDoodad you often see wick in pain after being shot so yes it hurts even him much ^^
Kyle's big question: "How can I escape the Void?!"
Avatar had a radical faction of water benders that could manipulate blood.
Only under a full moon though I thought. Since their powers were lunar based for whatever reason. In a more realistic water bending I assume you could eventually learn to focus it down to a molecular level and really fuck shit up.
@@Bl4ckD0g At first it was only under the full moon. In Korra they had one who was able to do it at any time.
They get enhanced powers under the moon, because the first human water benders learned from the moon rising and lowering the tides how to water bend! Lol the moons is the ultimate water bender!!! Or so the story goes in the show...
Kinda like how toph learned earth bending from the giant moles! So does she get stronger powers when there is a full mole then? Hmmmmmm

Ricky the Demon Machine they had a few able to do it without a moon above them.
@@Bl4ckD0g yeah I know what you mean. Human cells also contain water and imagine the damage you could do bending that. Zahir ( sorry if I misspelled him) chocked someone with her own breath but imagine just bending the air out of someone's lungs and creating such a strong vacuum that the ribs crumble.

I honestly read it as Dr.Mu didn't want to answer things she was unsure about, Kyle got a little bit scared she won't answer anything and kinda took over. I've done live hosting before and sometimes one of the hosts just doesnt' step up. So that even if they get better later on the otherr host is already in "solo" mode to save the show. The quote he's referencing about alien life was by Arthur C. Clarke. "Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying."
Which is easy to disagree with, as being alone is much more terrifying.
30:52 Thanks so much you guys for answering my question and thank you for saying my name right! You guys rock and thanks for putting out consistently good content.
Great little ep. I do want to point out though that bending from the Avatar show, at its maximum capacity, would be incredibly terrifying if you yourself were a "non-bender". The show's a kids' show, so they only scratch the surface of how lethal this theoretical metascience would be. Think about this: using airbending, you could pull the air out of a person's lungs or just flatly prevent them from breathing; you could even remove the space within their body. Of course, you've already covered the potential of waterbending. Using firebending directly on the body, you could completely remove the heat from one's body-or cause someone's internal body temperature to rise far beyond what is survivable. Finally something that the show did not cover that is extremely dark would, in fact be earthbending: human bodies are composed of the same [periodic table] elements and thus you could bend and contort someone's bones, muscles, and even their teeth. Real bending used for lethal purposes would be gruesome.
I love your chemistry together. Keep doing it. I've stopped watching BSLive, but now I'm going to watch every episode you two are in together.

This is funny. The first place I actually heard about graphene is on a Film Theory episode on the exact same thing: bulletproof skin. I believe it was specifically about Luke Cage.
No,from Hitman Agent 47.
@@admiralhyperspace0015 Might be. Idk
if the (bulletproof) material is so thin and light, then i think the bullet would just penetrate the body as normal with the material wraped around it.
Maybe, but the reason a bullet penetrates so we'll is because so much force is being impacted on such a small point, if it hits a flat surface (even a very thin one) that has high enough tensile strength not to rip apart, it's spreading out that force over a much larger surface area so it isn't all concentrated on that tip of the bullet.
Also its not always the bullet that kills many times its the energy. Thats why even those who are shot while wearing a vest usually with a trama plate still have broken ribs or are hurt enough not to get back up.

There's that one video were a guy shot himself to promote his bullet proof jacket and it looked like a thinner material than what Wick's suit. I think he shot himself with 9mm but he still got a bad bruise out of it and he still felt the stopping power of the round. It didn't go through the jacket but any thing bigger than 9mm like 5.56, 7.62, 45 acp will most likely go through if not knock you hard.
If the material is too thin and flexible, wouldn't the bullet simply push the clothing into the flesh with it? Bullet-proof clothing needs a way to distribute the energy of the impact, not just be strong.
there are nano materials that absorb kinetic energy that the military is edeveloping
That’s why it might break your bones and bruise you very badly
The clothing is designed to spread the Kinetic energy in a very wide area. Don't forget that the people that buy these suits and or street clothes are wearing multiple layers of Bullet Resistant Material. You have an under shirt made of the stuff, then the shirt which is Bullet Resistant, and then the jacket. I don't know because I don't wear suits, so the answer is just me speculating, but I would imagine it would go something like that. Take care:)

What is going to happen first. Our sun expanding to a red giant or Andromeda crashing into the milky way?
Collision in 3.6 to 4.5 billion years then the suns expansion in about 5 billion years.
The John Wick fabric you’re looking for would be a few very thin layers of UHMWPE with a few layers of Aramid on top. UHMWPE is mush stronger and abrasion resistant than the aramids, however it is not very heat resistant. You would need the aramid on top for the heat of the stopped projectile as they are typically very hot from leaving the barrel as well as the energy of impact. This could be made relatively thin and inconspicuous while retaining the tensile, shear, and compression strength needed to stop most handgun projectiles. You could still be severely hurt or incapacitated from a magnum caliber as the instant KE transfer will be massive. The layers will not be thick enough to slow the projectile over a longer period of time or to disperse the impact over a larger area. Possibly a hard armor that is form fit as an under shirt could mitigate this. It could also be made of UHMW, but fiber reinforced.
So a space expert was able to navigate to, enter, and find Kyle in, the void. So maybe the void a pocket of empty space? Maybe it can be accessed by traversing a wormhole? Or maybe it’s actually inside a black hole in some sort of weird pocket dimension. I just think it’s interesting she was able to find it and enter it.

You raise a good point about water bending being the ultimate killing weapon. It was in the series. They called it blood bending.
The ultimate question I would want to know in science is the Unified field equation that is valid for our universe. Knowing if String Theory is the right track or quantum field theory is correct (or both) can lead to so many other things like faster than light travel and other theories around Black holes
They would still be just that, a theory
Figured John's suit had some gel layer armour. I know there's a impact activated gel that they're working on but mixing a few things could work?
This is a great channel.
My question is. What if the big bang came after the destruction from a dying universe?
that is possible. in theory the expansion energy from the big bang would slowly be cancelled out by gravity after everything expands far enough. then slowly the universe would shrink back down. as it becomes smaller again it becomes dense and as the mass increases it shrinks faster. then it squeezes down until it cannot contain itself anymore and another big bang happens. or that's my understanding of how it works. the universe is infinitely repeating.
It would be great for both of you to be on every week. Both of you feed off each others energy and it's great to see.
I also wanted to mention that Kevlar material is also weaved in a very specific way as to disburse energy away from the impact area as to also prevent penetration. Kevlar does have a high tensile strength, but the weaving is just as important.
In GCSE when the question said 'What is graphene?' I should've put "Weird and expensive"
I'm going to say carbon nanofiber.
Come oonnnn CNFs!
In a nutshell name drop made me so happy they are another one of my favorite science channel
Re: X-Men style mutations. While no gene exists to enable us to fly, there coukd be genes with subtle changes that coukd be considered a super power. At some time during human evolution, humans were "colorblind". Then the gene that allows us to see colors like we do, started propagating. So maybe there is a third kind of photoreceptor (After rods and cones) that would allow some people to see into the infrared, or UV.

DARPA worked on carbon fiber nanotube induced spider silk armor. Although many of the spiders died, of the ones who didn't some incorporated the nanotubes structure into their spider silk making it stronger than regular spider silk. The problem of the focused kinetic force still remains without steel, graphine, or hardened kevlar trauma plates you would still have internal organ damage and broken bones.
You know if we're alone... That means that all the universe is ours >:D
But sadly science says chances are we aren't ;(
Topic For Because Science..lpve the show btw how does gods gun realy work in Supernatural season 14 episode 20
It's an equalizer, no? Maybe a supernatural connection between bullet and shooter that's like a loop? God got shot and Sam felt it.
Almost everyone answer the speed of light question wrong. The speed doesn't have to do with mean travel distance. That is scattering. The speed change is due to light being an em wave. It interacts with with the electric field of the material it is passing through which is why it changes frequency and direction and then it "speeds" up when leaving. As in it doesn't have any interference to slow it down after leaving the material. Gotta stop thinking of light as a particle when it comes to speed and refraction.
On the subject of "Bullet-proof" Fashionable Suits, there ARE actually companies that are designing and making designer clothing that includes synthetic spider-silk (At least that's what they call it) that provides a high degree of bullet protection. Yes graphene would help, but without something to absorb the kinetic energy, like the micro-springs in spidersilk drag-line, it's not going to be easy to protect someone from the penetrative capacity of even a small to medium caliber round.
How soon, if ever, will we be able to have full control over the weather? And what effect would that have on civilization?

Kyle, I know that most people call armor that can stop some bullets bulletproof however, they are not "bulletproof". A more correct term is bullet resistant.
Everyone knows this🤣
It's bulletproof at least once.
Kyle go on the JOE ROGAN PODCAST!!!!!!
Fuck yes
If it's too thin the bullet would cause too much damage before stopping, even if it doesn't penetrate.
I'd go for a layer inside the kevlar/carbon that goes rigid only when it's under extreme stress, such as a non newtonian fluid. This would make it a bit heavier but without damaging mobility, with the fluid boosting resistance to deformation only when needed, so the bullet looses a lot more energy close to the impact instead of travelling further
I love the two of you together.
I really want Dr. Moo on every episode of Because Live, if that's possible. If Because Space becomes as big as Because Science, then it would be the perfect opportunity to "reunite" and I think everyone here agrees that the rapport between Kyle and Moo is greater than the sum of its parts!
Kyle + Dr. Moo ... what a great combo.

I actually fell asleep in the livestream (starts for me at midnight) and watched it now again in the morning. Thanks for answering my question Kile and Dr. Moo.
As far as I know, bullet proof clothing was discovered when ww1 pilots wore silk scarves and were hit by bullets or shrapnel. the shrapnel pierced their bodies, but not the silk, allowing the shrapnel to be pulled out by pulling out the scarf.
A thick "bulletproof" jacket adds padding to reduce pressure at the impact point as well as unbreakable fibres.
If the suit is thin enough, it might also be pushed into the body by a bullet, no matter how unbroken the fibres are.
This might be why suits are layered and well fitting...
The density you were talking about, hawkings back to the superman key issue we had with maintaining its structure at that amount of matter, and at that density if someone could somehow transplant it into the earth's core, it would expand to the point it would envelop the whole planet.
There can also be technically no light speed constant. It can be slowed as you said, but sped up, through forces interactions, so the basis of a constant is relative to perspective, because there is no consistent actual speed, its what's measured, in the fourth dimension.
Or this is all opinionated conjecture on my part, love the show.
While not particularly science related, an interesting note about the suit up scene in John Wick 2 - the Tailor in the film that he orders his suit from is played by a gentleman named Luca Mosca, who also happens to be the Tailor who designed and made all of Keanu Reeves' suits in the first, second, and at the time of this comment just-released third film.
So he really is The Tailor
@@biohazard724 Definitely some extreme method acting, there.
Note: Because Science Live (and a big part of Because Science, too) works not because every question and movie scene is scientifically plausible, but because you're able to find cool science things that are close enough and keep people interested. Like Kyle, Dr. Moo has proven great at this, and she's excited and engaging even when questions have to be reworded! Good work, everyone! Excited!
Good on you for letting each other share answers, btw. Each of you is enough to cover almost all the niches (Including humor)
PS: Because Science said Kurzgesagt! I want a crossover!
As I recall, a suit maker, in I believe the second movie, sells him a new suit that’s interwoven with silicon carbide fibers. Said suitor even says bullets won’t penetrate, but it’ll hurt really bad.
I'd personally be very happy if these live episodes were to always feature Dr. Moo.
For one, your combined knowledge will allow you to answer more questions, or answer certain questions more accurately.
However the main reason I'd like to see her as a regular part of these live shows is because I assume Because Science and Because Space will be entirely separate, by which I mean Dr. Moo won't usually appear in Because Science episodes, and Kyle won't usually appear in Because Space episodes.
So I think having you both appear in the live episodes will be good, it's nice seeing you interact with each other but more than anything, it makes it all feel like one cohesive channel; like you're both part of a bigger whole rather than just two people doing their own thing but on the same channel.
I thought they explained a bit of the bulletproof material in the second John Wick movie. Also wasn't it a liner they added between the cloth layers of the suit? In any case we do see John Wick get bruised and hurt when he gets shot despite there being no penetration. Awesome job Kyle!
They explain in wick 2 that the suit is bulletproof but he will still feel every hit as the tailor said
That’s why Wick always sends the last bullet through your skull.
US company Aspetto produce dress suits with ballistic linings that are rated to NIJ Level IIIA (up to .357 Magnum). The bruising and broken ribs etc from the extreme backface deformation would be brutal, but otherwise it's as depicted in John Wick 2 and 3. The actual fabric shown in JW2 is clearly not Kevlar though, as you say - it looks like it's a form of neoprene, intended to be some exotic fabric as they likely didn't realise that you can stop pistol rounds with a dress suit. They also cost $5,000.
You two have great chemistry together and definitely should work together on this.
Neo could stop bullets with his hand, but john wick could stop bullets with his suit. I think john wick is the matrix if he took the other pill.
These two are awesome together
