Amanda's death was hilarious and out of nowhere.
It reminded me of that scene of the movie Cat in the hat where the cat gets hit in the balls with a bat by a lil kid while the song Easy like sunday morning of Lionel Richie is playing on the background
Ya, the seasons after actually lead somewhere, but Defiance just was "hey people got kidnaped go save them, oh no Amanda died, go avenge her" I don't recall if we really learned why people where being kidnapped, but hey loot over there!! Go get it!!
I think they were gonna be sacrificed for Nezzy but don’t quote me on that.
I skipped the cutscene so was so confused when one of the characters mentioned her death
I would not be skipping destiny cutscenes lol. Bungie so rarely does an actual cutscene, you know shits happening in them when they do.
When she died i legit thoughht it was another fake out cause i was like "wait thats it? Whyd she die there?"
Like what was even the point of killing Amanda? Can't even say she got fridged because her death barely impacted the characters or story in anyway
Note for the Guardians of the future: if you see an NPC missing from the tower and they’re now doing missions, they’re going to die. Happened to Cayde-6 and it happened to Amanda, won’t be surprised if it happens again.
And the “I’m just so beefy” line is killer, no one can convince me otherwise

Nah for me personally that line from Crow was my first “Yeah this guy’s gonna be the next Hunter vanguard for sure” moment
honestly. The Dialogue was completely fine, weird complain of you... but the Season had potential that was left behind. The whole "Witness is deporting humans for reasons" could've gone into a mass effect route where the witness alters humans into minions to fight for him where Amanda sacrifices herself to destroy the facility.
Same season we lost Lance as well so yeah kind of got a soft spot in my heart for it. Even tho it was paired with lightfall.

Hello! Season of the deep.
If the Witness had killed Amanda in orbit it would've been so much more impactful.
I got back into destiny short after the season of defiance, so i got bombarded with cutscenes when i logged in. And tbh the death of Amanda didn’t even hit me, it didn’t feel needed, rather felt like an attempt of darkening the vibe of the game without doing any buildup.
She was the middle child of the tower
Agree cuz the seasonal quest only had like 21 steps
This season imo, had a solid activity to play and some alright loot, but the writing had to tie into Lightfall. Season of Defiance, felt like it was trying to establish the “this is the start of our end”, narrative more so than Light Fall.

I felt like it was a completely stupid way for them to kill her off. Have her dying doing what she does best to increase the threat presented by the war. I would have had a tormentor slice her ship or something mid mission as she waa helping us or something crazy like that rather than her being on the ground, in a mission that made no sense for her to be there. I liked Amanda, she was sort of cardboard before Chosen, but she had been steadily getting time throughout the years. So I can't say I wouldn't have felt anything. Its just how they did it, had me more angry at how fucking lame it was as a send-off than saddened. The dialogue was fine imo.

To be fair, the activity, at least to me was far more enjoyable than the witch queen activities, I loved the add density and banter from crow

You cannot tell me that defiance was worse than fucking season of the deep. That shit was GOD AWFUL. And the wicked implement was the worst boss in the entirety of destiny 2 easily

I'm gonna be real I've played since destiny 1 and didn't feel Amanda's death at all. She just wasn't that major
It was so random, she's a cool character idea but they just didn't use her a lot. It was underwhelming when she died

I didn't care at all when Amanda died, I've played since the D1 open beta and it still meant nothing at all.
Fr she was a nothing character who only got significant lore right before she died (kinda like the cloudstrider we all agree we didn’t care for) the only reason her death was somewhat impactful was because lance reddick had also passed recently RIP
Amanda was super pointless so I’m not surprised no one is saddened by her death 😂
I did not like Season of the Deep at all. I completely lost interest in the game until Witch came out.
