Just FYI, The headlamp only provides 175 lm when you use NiMH batteries. - MAX 6h MIN 30h However, the lumen is increased to 300 lm when you use Alkaline batteries. - MAX 30h MIN 175h I think it's little bit mislead marketing since people would expected to get 300 lm from NiMH but you only get 175 lm. You can find the accurate detail about this headlamp on the internet. Basically, you will get full performance from this headlamp from Alkaline batteries. It also take 4-5 hrs to recharge its NiMH batteries.

Thats what you really should get out there If you review it and claim it. It's also the reason why I would not get it. Needs to be real waterproof without care, for me.
It's not quite 90 degrees. Looks like about 65-75 degrees, definitely enough adjustment range to light the trail at your feet or objects in your hands (or to keep from shining your buddy in the face).
I have never gotten mine to recharge. I plug it in with the cord that came with it. Powers up for a few seconds, then flashes red. Won't turn on, I assume batteries are totally dead. Is there a trick to getting it to recharge?

To get it to charge NiMH batteries you need to either buy the black diamond rechargeable batteries, or take a normal AAA NiMH rechargeable and scrape off the plastic at the end of the battery for about 10mm so that the recharge tabs can make contact with the negative end. Then it will recharge and flash green while charging.

The battery life is up to 300 hours. Keep in mind that is a specification on the lowest setting and tested in a lab with brand new batteries. The beauty of the Revolt is that you can use Black Diamond's rechargeable batteries and charge the directly in the headlamp, no extra battery charger needed. You can also use regular alkaline batteries in this headlamp if you will be out for a long time and will not be able to recharge it. For travelers and folks who have a solar charger, the Revolt is perfect because you don't have to keep buying new batteries and throwing away old ones.

IPX means the lamp will survive immersion in water for a length of time BUT the battery terminals will corrode if not dried and WD40 sprayed on

Good question! Black Diamond doesn't list a specific charging time, but close to 5 hours for the device to fully charge
