“Leader” in the kpop idol world is more like a team manager. He has many responsibilities including team morale and keeping everybody in check, liaises between his team and the company, makes sure everything is in place for literally everything lol so he’s integral to the functioning of the team. Nothing rlly goes forward without him, if that makes sense. He’s a certified genius with a 148 IQ, an incredible producer, lyricist, and rapper obviously. RMs the 🐐
All BTS members are just as good as solo artists as they are in group.
Each member has a solo project coming out. J-Hope was first, Jin just released his (he will be headed to do 2yrs mandatory military service) and now RM albums is now out. Each member will be doing their military service from now until 2025. They will be back together once everyone has served their time. Hope this helps.

Yaaay!!! I'm here first and all for your reactions!!!! This is his first solo project . It took him four years to work on this album. They agree that now is the time to do things on their own. They will come back together in 2025.
His solo album is beautiful. He has a song with Erykah Badu and another with Anderson Paak that you should checkout. The whole album is amazing. Youjeen is in a Korean rock band that’s been around since the 90’s and she’s super famous in Korea. She bodied this. This album is so beautiful and he’s been working on it since 2019. There’s so much pain in his music but rather than hurting I feel like this album allows you to sit with your pain/sadness. RM deserves all the praise in the world for comforting people w his music
He sings flower work because he doesnt want to be among the stars like a firework, up high above, its scary, it burns out. He wants to be a flower work, a field of flowers on the ground.

YouJeen and RM mesh so well in this song. RM spends a lot of time considering his place in the world, he is an amazing lyricist putting his heart and soul into his music. In this song his sincerity blossoms and explodes into my heart.

Yes, RM is the leader of BTS which a lot of groups have a leader. It's not like how it's seen in the west though, a leader is like the team captain of a sports team. BTS have always done solo songs, collabs, mixtapes but because of their upcoming mandatory military enlistment they are taking time to put out solo albums before they enlist. If you don't know military service is mandatory in South Korea for all able bodied men for 18-21 months. Jin who is the oldest member of BTS will enlist December 13th and he released his first official solo song called The Astronaut last month which he worked on with Coldplay and J-Hope released his first solo album Jack In the Box in July. Jungkook did a song for the FIFA World Cup called Dreamers and did a song with Charlie Puth called Left and Right and they've done collabs with other Korean artists too. Actually they were supposed to do solo albums after the world tour in 2020 which never happened because of the pandemic, so they kept delaying their solos because they were still hoping the tour would happen at some point. But let me make this clear BTS did not break up, they are still together doing to other content besides music together like their variety show Run BTS and according their company they will be done with their service in 2025. And if you liked this you should check out RM's new album Indigo and even his previous solo mixtapes called RM from 2015 and mono. from 2018. And yes that was youjeen singing in the chorus.

RM was a Korean underground rapper that went by the name Rap Monster. Big Hit signed him up. He was asked if he wanted to go solo or be part of a group. He decided on a group so a group was built around him. They became BTS. They were hip-hop at first but gradually added pop into the mix. Then their first ever all english song...Dynamite came out and it was a throw back to the disco area. Now they're on break to put out their solo albums of each member and then entering the military which is mandatory in S. Korea. They hope to be back as a group in 2025.
BTS always had solo/individual projects or songs they wrote themselves. A lot of their projects got side tracked due to Covid that took up 2yrs and now it's time to start their military services for the next 2yrs until 2025. This was a passion project for RM not everyone is going to get every song but Army will understand, and this album is Amazing! 👏🏽🕺🎶🎤👑🥇🏆💜💞✌🏽🙏🏽♾️
Yes, that's the leader of BTS. BTS has three rappers and four singers, and RM (Korean name Kim Namjoon) is the original founding member. The other two rappers were recruited to join him, followed by the four singers. "Leader" doesn't mean the same thing in Korea that it does in the U.S. RM isn't a frontman or anything; he doesn't get any more time on BTS recordings or in stage performances than the others. It's his role to liaison between the group and the management company, and help keep the group focused and organized. Because RM is the only member who speaks fluent English, he's also the one who speaks for them when they're interviewed by English-speaking media.
