I am proud owner of this flagship receiver. One of the best and powerful AVR ONKYO has ever produced. I have installed heatsinks on all ICs which gets hot also 4 fans installed which are thermally controlled (Auto Power on/off).

I swap hdmi board with new dtp chip but still no sound issue on Onkyo TX-NR1008. Some expert saud that it need microprocessor software update. What your opinion?
With out checking your AMP I can't tell you clearly

AV receiver, i didn't turn on for 2 or 3 more weeks by leave my house for my office trip, then I'll come back and i turn on it but it will be not turn on and small relay tik sounds only came,
no power, no display
only small tik sound came when i push power button...
what's the problem?

Instead of removing somany chips, why u not tested with diode or continuety mode short circuit in HDMI pins? And other Option each chip supply path u will find " L " inductors by removing it self would have saved time.....!!
No it's not like that whole HDMI Board and amp unit share common ground only, and in audio section ic's works from single voltage regulator if one ic failed then every components connected in that section shows short and dts ic connected to every ic in hdmi board . So without removing ic we can't measure in doide mode also it's showing short only, I tried lots of time, or we can also use short killer for this situation but problem is it's burn good working ic also , it happens me 4-times in my experience

no bro, customer not agreed to proceed further due to spare cost is higher then expect and he also demand me for amp life expectancy for atleast 5-years. i cant give assurance for amp life. so i dropped it and handover-ed to customer
