I know of an Eritrean girl orphaned in the war in Eritrea and was adopted by an English man from an orphanage.He kept her Eritrean name as a middle name when they moved to England.Many years later she traced the Eritrean community in London where she worked then and using her name she found relatives who were looking for her as well.Then she found out that her family was still alive in Eritrea her mother had died during childbirth and the father had given her to the orphanage because he couldn’t care for a new born during the war. The English father didn’t know who she was at the time but the baby had a name and he just wanted her to have chance of ever tracking her family. She went to Eritrea and found her father and siblings still alive and visited her mother’s grave.Identify and belonging are very important….
