2160p 4K HD!
My first trial with my new camcorder on trains. Wanted to get some close ups of fast trains so headed back to one of my favourite lineside locations on the ECML, Conington Level Crossing. Situation between Peterborough & Huntingdon.
INCLUDES: LNER Azumas & 91's, Thameslink 700's & Great Northern 365's & 387's. Also a Gatwick Express liveried 387.
Times have changed since I last went spotting on the East Coast and I have to say what a boring mainline it has become. 700's & IET's dominate the route, really not very exciting.

I have to agree with you "a boring mainline" Long live the "125's & 225's"
Thank you for sharing this with us … :):):)
amtrakharry I lost interest in spotting after the HST was retired off the ECML. And now the 225 as well. Two iconic trains from my childhood.
Gutted...
Haven't done any trainspotting here in Hatfield for ages. No variety of trains anymore...just Azumas every 5 minutes. No HST's and less 225's...I agree with you, ECML is now garbage. What a shame, but that's the iron hand of progress for you.
Nice video all the same.
Great catch of the triple Class 365 purple header
Why was there a Gatwick Express Class 387, did it come back from hire from Great Northern
Nice filming
very good indeed!
Honestly, the HSTs and the IC225s were the crown jewls of the ECML. With the HST gone and less IC225s, it’s just plain dull.
This is very nice.
What camcorder do u have?
At the risk of sounding like a sad old fart, I must say things are a lot less interesting on the ECML now since the HSTs are gone and the 225s are so thin on the ground.
Not much variety left at all, and I find the Azumas to be utterly dull, clinical devices. Still, it was nice to see a few 365s about. I didn't realise they were still running on the ECML. Must be in fairly low numbers now?
I would have to agree. The ECML is boring now. Azumas are completely boring as are the 700’s
ECML has changed so much
Rob's Trains Yup. Not for the better.
Trio Gang Hi
Yush Because 91s are going HSTs have gone 82205 has gone
god i miss the variety. the change is necessary but it still stings.
I see a lot of azuma's these days with LNER instead of 225's.
That's obvious because the 225's are being scrapped.
No there not there being used on the Blackpool to London Euston thinks it Euston
EuropeanTransport TV lner are keeping 10 (I think that’s the official number) until 2023 and some 91s have had parts taken to keep the other 91s in service.
nice to view.
Everything running slower.
