They all be like "It's so hard" and then they do the accents flawlessly.

They definitely don’t. They tend to sound stilted and bland which is why they can only do a generic American accent (like a TV anchor), instead of specific regions

Julie Small it’s one of the easiest accents (hard to get exactly perfect) but the basic American accent is pretty simple

In my opinion, Hugh Laurie has a flawless American accent.
When he auditioned for House, Bryan Singer had no idea that Hugh Laurie was not American.
Hugh Laurie is my go-to guy when talking about actors who do good accents. His American accent is flawless. It's better than mine... and I'm American.

And in Dreamcatcher - I thought the one British voice he was doing was for the character, when it was probably more like his normal accent!
His accent in that was great but it's pretty wrong in Billions, because it's supposed to be a very specific New York City accent (Staten Island) and he just can't do it right. Great actor, but accents are tough.

1:47 "Yorkshire puddings" Grew up in Minnesota, and the Swedes there make "oven pancakes" which are basically Yorkshire puddings with nutmeg. We serve the sausage on the side, and put apple sauce on the pancake, though. Really good that way.

You know it’s understandable when people have trouble with American accents when there’s 50 states most of which have different accents. But when there’s more than 42 accents on a collection of islands barely wider than Nebraska. It really puts things in perspective.

Glad someone finally listed Diana!! I am American, she was the royal we all loved/saw the most of in the 90's with the revenge dress and such.
There is a palpable pain on his face and a very slight tremor in his voice. That moment had weight.
There was something genuinely special about Diana and how she spoke to the people, she wasn't a normal royal, she was a royal for the people, and the people of her generation adored her for it, her death was a true tragedy that still haunts many to this day.

A note on the New York accent - besides being the hardest for Brits to do, if an American actor has that accent, speech coaches that help American actors lose their regional accent, say that it is the hardest one to get rid of..
The funny thing is that for non-native english speakers, like me, is one of the easiest to understand. Northerneast coast accents are easy, in fact.
Watching this back now that the Queen’s dead makes me very emotional and appreciative of Damien Lewis’ last line 😭

@@lejenddairy Yes, exactly. Remember Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta or Johnny Depp in oh so many British films. There is quite a few. The trouble isn't Americans getting jobs on British sets and vice versa. When I did a study in media, to but it straight, we need more ethnicity in front of the camera as well as in post production. It's improving but hardly by leaps and bounds.
@@lejenddairy Not really. Most films are made in Hollywood America. Americans rarely act in films made by european movie studios. More Europeans take roles made by American studios than vice versa.

Yorkshire pudding, yes! I was only able to get one about 2 hours away at a Scot-owned pub called The Highlander near Virginia Beach. Wasn't even on the menu but they made it for me. A Brit friend of mine that I played online with gave me his mum's recipe though.

They're literally all in dresses and tuxedos, I'm not sure when they filmed all this but they were all attending formal events looking their best!
They were all in the middle of their Vanity Fair photoshoots, hence the name of the video. These interviews were taken either before or during the shoots
I loved Felicity Jones in Rogue One and Gugu Mbatha Raw in Loki. And in both I think they hid their British very well.
I'm genuinely confused what you mean by "hide it" lol. Felicity Jones just spoke in a normal English accent for the entire film.

Watch British television shows. They NEVER spring for an American actor when there is a bit part that's supposed to be an American character, and the faux American accents are HORRIBLE!!
