- Let's have a deep dive into the combat of Wuthering Waves - We will cover everything from a generic overview of how Resonators/Characters work, to in-depth knowledge about Energy Regeneration, cover all of the combat mechanics such as parry and dodge, concerto and ultimate/resonance liberation energy. We will learn how to build a team, what to think about when doing so and make an example team with Yinlin, Calcharo and Verina including their full rotation.

I love how "dying" is a combat mechanic... I was hoping to play a game with one, too bad couldn't find one before wuthering waves

@12:00 is what i was really looking for, no other video really tells you how long to keep units on the field - this made it clear that with a few exceptions like verina you wanna basically go through your forte then switch

Great guide. I'd argue you are one of the best CC for this game right now. One question if you don't mind. If I want to try that electr team you mentioned,should I look for a Violet Heron or just take the Cyan Heron that I got and make use of it? Cyan looks nice because of mobility and 2 free units could use it,no matter which sonata it spawns with...if I understood the set bonus correctly.

Great stuff man! I have a couple questions, if you don't mind:
- do you happen to know if Echo active skills give any Concerto or Resonance Energy on hit?
- when you cast an Echo active and immediately swap out, will the damage snapshot and be calculated off the character who has the Echo equipped? Or is it dynamic and will use the current on-field characters stats. If the latter, there could be a huge damage loss if the Echo deals Aero damage, but the current on-fielder is of a different element, for example

Afaik they do not give any energy, but actually I am not sure now, dont take word for it. In CBT2 basically everything snapshotted with a very few exceptions.

I'm trying not to watch too many guides since I want to try things out and experiment for myself, but these are super helpful, thank you for taking the time to make them!
I want to use Mortefi, so I'll be looking for a heavy attack focused DPS. Ideally Jiyan since he's limited and I love his design, but I want to be prepared in case I get really unlucky so I'll have to look at the other resonators to see who would be a good backup option.
I think you can guarantee jiyan if youre active enough

I wish they changed multiplayer to making each player able to use 2 characters for each players instead of 1. Difficulty may be adjusted in multiplayer anyway.

does energy regen on echos only affect ultimate gauge or all three gauges?

@iamrivenous I wasn't sure where to ask this but can't you use mortfi as a "support" on the energy regen set or is that just wasteful?
I've heard and read a lot that Yinlin can work well as main dps paired with Yuanwu, what exactly would Yuanwu's role be in this party?
And I assume your 3rd would be Verina, but would Baizhi or even Taoqi work if unable to pull Verina?
I'm puzzled about the elements is it useful for breaking the toughness bar ? Or any other advantages? I know there is no reactions here but what's the point of elements here ?

Might be just me couz I'm planning to main Danjin and Yangyang but.... Hu tao mains like me in GI will mostly also go with Danjin 😂 but of course must be good or at least learn to dodge.

I would argue depends if you are F2P or not. There is not necessarily (read: "sometimes there is") a big gain between the best F2P (or gacha 4* R1) weapon and their BiS 5* weapon, sometimes a 4* is already the best weapon for them (i.e. Verina).
@@iamrivenous F2P and maybe main rover so i thought of getting the 5 star weapon early to carry me to end game with rover but when i get union 45 the only other weapon with crit rate is the gun no gear user for it
