    Stylish and sporty with a roomy, feature-rich interior, the all-new 2023 Honda HR-V gains aspirational qualities beyond its segment. A larger, more responsive engine, an all-new platform with a smooth-riding independent rear suspension, and a clean, high-tech interior with standard digital instrumentation display and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, take HR-V to a new level. The new HR-V will begin arriving at dealerships in early June.
    The new second-generation HR-V was designed and engineered without compromise. Longer and wider, it's more comfortable yet also sportier and more fun-to-drive than its predecessor, while featuring more rear seat legroom and one of the largest cargo areas in its class. For a smoother ride, HR-V's wheelbase has been extended and its tracks are significantly wider, creating an athletic stance and improving stability. Class-leading safety features include standard Honda Sensing®, next-gen front airbags, as well as standard side-impact and front occupant knee airbags.
    'The new Honda HR-V is just the right size for young, active buyers looking for a sporty driving experience, and plenty of space and utility for an adventurous weekend escape,' said Michael Kistemaker, assistant vice president, Honda National Sales, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. 'This new HR-V will welcome a new generation of customers to Honda, and we look to grow its position as the segment leader with young buyers, first-time buyers, and multicultural customers.'
    Key HR-V Features:
    Clean, sporty and upscale exterior and interior styling
    Standard 7-inch digital instrumentation includes the tachometer, digital speedometer and multi-information display (separate analog speedometer included)
    Standard 7-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™ compatibility
    Available HD 9-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™ compatibility (EX-L)
    Based on the new Honda global architecture, like the new 11th-generation Civic
    New fully independent rear suspension
    Larger, more responsive 2.0-liter engine
    Available Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control™
    New Hill Descent Control feature standard across the lineup
    Standard Honda Sensing® system with new front wide-view camera, new Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
    Standard front occupant knee and rear passenger side-impact airbags

    I bought one and love it. The interior feels premium. The handling is very good. Yes it is a little slow, but it is a compact CUV, I didn't expect it to be very fast. It is sooooo much better than the outgoing HR-V.

    HR-V needs the 1.5T as an upgraded engine. To differentiate the CR-V, it should get a version of the 2.0T running regular fuel. The 1.5T, for all its reliability concerns, is a really good engine! Amazing on fuel, and pretty good power!

      @jjacob25101 Před rokem

      They seem to be having problems with the Civics with the turbo 1.5L engine now. I am not a fan of the hybrids or electrics, but they should offer the 1.5L turbo in the EX-L for 2024 and offer a premium Sport Touring model as I described in my comment above with the turbo 2.0L engine. It may be expensive, but would be perfect for me, or anyone willing to pay the price for it. I am already happy with what the Sport has for the price. But that would be perfect if I could have it exactly how I would want it, if I had the money.

      All trim levels have the sane engine/drivetrain in either FWD or AWD. The Sport just has bigger, wider 18" where's and tires and possible a sportier suspension calibration. Other that equipment, it should, it otherwise would be the same.

  • @Slim1986
    @Slim1986 Před rokem +7

    Honda loves missing the mark on a lot of things. They should be ashamed with no rear cup holders

  • @jjacob25101
    @jjacob25101 Před rokem

    There's so much complaints about acceleration and power, but almost all HR-Vs I see being road tested are AWD versions that are going to ne significantly slower, and that's a given, but AWD versions are going to be more co.mon where it snows and such, where you may need more traction, but even the FWD version has the Snow mode.
    Like the Civic, especially for the Sport trim, things were omitted to keep it with the other good equipment at a certain price point.
    But on the HR-V Sport, you get a lot if things the Civic Sport does not have at about the same price as the Civic Sport Hatchback.
    The HR-V Sport has turn signal indicator lights on the outside mirrors, full LED taillights and two LED lights in the rear hatch area, and I believe rear cross traffic monitoring in addition to the blind spot monitoring.
    The rear seats on all trims lack the center fold down armrest/cupholders, but the Civic Sports do not have them either. The rear of the center console has no A/C vents or USB charging ports, but it looks like provisions were made in the design to add them later, possibly in a future upper trim model like a Sport Touring. A/C vents are not usually offered at the Sport trim or price point. Fir rear seat passengers, you coukd easily invest in a dual outlet portable power bank like an Anker or other brand 10,000 mAh version and cables to keep in the center console storage.
    The 17" wheels look small. The EX-L should have 18" wheels like the Sport, even if it has narrower tires like the LX.
    The HR-V is built on the Civic chassis platform, so you are basically getting an SUV version of the Civic with ride quality and steering dynamics. I am not sure if the Sport has a different suspension tuning than the other trims beside the wider 18" wheels/tires, but it might. But I believe the engineers intentionally tuned the springs and steering to be not as aggressive as that on the Civic to better match the preference of the intended target marketing audience for the HR-V.
    I understand lots of things may not be included withbthe initial release but may be added in the future, and/or in higher trim levels.
    IMHO, that should make the 6 speed gearbox available in the Sport, as well as a future Sport Touring, that should have the all the EX-L options, the aforementioned A/C vents and charging ports on the rear of the center console, the rear seat center armrest/cupholders. And a map pocket storage behind the driver's/left side seat. It should have a Sport tuned steering and suspension, the Bose Stereo from the Civic Sport Touring Hatchback, and the turbo 2.0L engine from the Accord Sport, with dual exhaust outlets with the AWD. Also, upgraded, more ergonomic front seats with lumbar support, maybe ventilation. I bet people would buy it and whatever price Honda needed to sell it with those upgrades. And it will.probably be hard to beat for that segment of the compact SUV market. That would probably be my perfect version of the Sport I plan to get. They should also offer the new CR-V with a similar top level trim with the turbo 2.0L engine. And offer it in more colors like Boost Blue Pearl and Aegean Blue Metallic.

    • @amamiai
      @amamiai Před rokem

      Not only uncomfortable, you won't be able to pass 90% of cars with that level of acceleration. I have many years of experience driving slow (>12s) cars, most of the time I have to wait until other cars move away before I can change lane or merge, both in the city and the highway. 9 seconds 0-60 is the minimum for anyone to feel safe and comfortable these days, I guess people who buy this are going to deeply regret once they experience it.

    Peeps for 4 grand more get a RAV4. Actual usable power and if you drive 65 mph cruise control it WILL get 39-40 MPG. Don’t need a hybrid here! Mine AVERAGES 32-33 MPG and the girlfriend’s 2021 AWD averages 30. Goodness if my car was this slow I’d blow my brains out! That engine is working so hard to move it it’s using more gas… apparently Honda isn’t experienced with understanding that yet. Not to mention the RAV4 has rear cupholders and rear USB’s if you pony up another grand for the XLE trim. You get a bigger and better car.
    Nobody buying an HRV is saying a RAV4 is too big lol. There’s no point to these things. The HRV and anything its size should go.

    Hi, Kirk! Think of the last HR-V (the upgraded one is sold as the Vezel in Japan and other markets) as a Fit-based crossover while this one (sold as the ZR-V^ in Japan, China and other markets) is a Civic-based crossover, totally being a "Honda Corolla Cross". That's the reason it is SO DIFFERENT* (there's no more Fit-based vehicles in USDM).
    In other markets the ZR-V (this HR-V) comes with a NA-2.0L Hybrid and a version of the T-1.5L, so the former powerplant (w/enough batteries available) will be in US in 1-2 years and the latter (powered like the CR-V) could be either or both the topline one and / or the one in an Acura version of this (say it ain't so, they would gladly have this as an entry level vehicle).
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    * this "Global" platform seems to be as flexible as VW's MQB, from which probably Honda used the ideas from.
    ^ to eliminate confusion call it the ZED-arvee...

      I agree. The lack of the 1.5t as an option makes me think they're saving it for the rumored Acura ADX... we'll see!

    This would look sooo much better with the European version front grille.

      Remember this HR-V is NOT the Vezel, it'd be the '23 ZR-V in Europe.

    I think it is a little strange that the EXL does not have any back seat climate vents or USB’s especially as the top spec trim.

    Honda is pretty conservative in terms of hybrids so this probably won’t get a hybrid as fast as the corolla cross did. Tho it would be nice and would put it at the top of its class.
