I'm honestly a supporter of this music, even though I rarely listen to it. Monika is charming and her classy, slow jazz entry brings a lot of fresh air to the contest, we haven't seen this music genre making a big fuss in ESC in ages! Plus, it's fully in Lithuanian! It's been more than 20 years!

Her style is from 1918-1939 Lithuania (FREE Lithuania before Russian occupation) not Soviet burlesque by ANY means. Please don't even compare her to that horrible time of our history. We would never send something from our free country to represent the worst era of our history.
It may have been horrible, but there’s no denying that its music had massive cultural impact. You don’t have to blame 70s Soviet pop culture for the terrible regime that came with it. Music transcends that.

Thank you! Lithuanian sounds such a unique, elegant and tender language... it was such a pleasant surprise. I wonder why some people think we should all bow our heads to the supremacy of the English language when we can express our "sentimentai" at best in our native languages. All Lingua franca havehistorically been used for business and legal documents and that makes sense... but our feelings are experienced in our own unique cultural ways and languages. I personally deem that the only way forward for us as Europeans is valuing the uniqueness of our own cultures and learning to appreciate different attitudes and inclinations in different nations. That's the beauty of ESC for me. And let's all speak English off-stage!

When I first watched this entry wasn't so much into the song itself but she really does draw you in, I think this will perform similarly to Portugal last year as in it will be a shock qualifier.
Lithuania dont you dare revamp this, or change the staging dramatically, or change the dress.

Yeah revamps not always make sound better... good example of Israel when Hovi Star song Made of stars was revamped... it lost beautiful melody and notes then and become common ordinary song :(
Monika said that dress will be changed as rhinestones make it impossible to move. But i do agree that it's a lovelly peace from „Más 924“ designers

Currently, this song is 7th in my top 13 but I could see it climbing up. The song doesn't blow me away but it doesn't have to. The entire vibe is just enchanting and tasteful whilst still feeling sexy. Monika is just an absolute star and she knows how to work the camera and keep you invested on her. The more I listen to this song, the more I love it. ❤️❤️❤️
Love this! So classy and elegant. Pure quality singing with the mysterious 1950s spirit haunting 21st century woman at night vibe. A little bit more changes in staging and adding a climax would really help to elevate this. But as the singer said: everything will be changed, she pulled this off alone without a team!

@@sav0001 Prijatelju, ne lupetaj, ovo je sablonska pesma, nece ni uci u finale.. Drugo, to sto mislis da Balkan nema nijednu dobru pesmu, pa mozda zato sto je do sad samo 2 izaslo od mogucih 9... Za sad na ESC ima samo par dobrih pesama (Ukrajina, Estonia, i Italija/Ceska) ovo ostalo smece.

Baltic languages are one of the oldest in Europe, so there are similarities with all European and other languages.
And lithuanian and latvian for that matter has similarities with Indian too. These languanges diverged some 5000 years BC

Honestly disagree with you guys somewhat in that I don't think this needs a climax at all! I think the split-screen segments serve as mini 'peaks' and I could definitely see one of those being used in the recap as it's so enchanting. I agree that there is a bit of a lull in the 2nd verse, but this is overall a really solid entry from Lithuania that shot straight to my top 3. It could even work with having a glass shattering effect similar to the end of Lena's performance in 2011 where all the versions of her dancing on the LED shatter so it's just her left - maybe that could give this more of a climax without sacrificing the nature of how the song progresses!

I feel a little disappointed that you found time to react so many songs from a Latvian final, which you seamed be bored of, but skipped a Lithuanian one with only 8 finalists. I say this with all respect. She feels like someone's kooky, darling Auntie who dances around the kitchen. Something about her is corny, but that face endears you. The problem with the performance is-just like the song itself- is that it's the same in the beginning, the middle, and the end. I'm not 100% convinced it will make the finals.

I see no one talking in the comment section about Alla Pugachëva and Lili Ivanova - trust me, this entry is a lot more Soviet/Warsaw Pact than it is French! It’s a very powerful piece. She truly simulates the Soviet 70s and blends it with 90s sophistication. I love it - everything about this song and performance screams contemporary retro.
