Soooo many planty people I watch. Sydney Plant guy, Yoga and Plants with Roos, That wacky UK Bearded plant guy?? Leafy Luster, Sean at Only Plants, Plants with Krystal, Kaylee Ellen, Pretty in Green ........ Everyone has a different perspective and focus in the plant community. I watch at this point just to see how everyone is progressing as I've got my plant care routine down that works for me. Love the energy ( especially your educational deep dives) and music you bring to the table Jake. 😻
I am interested in seeing a follow up on this plant in next few weeks. The way you messed with all those roots, I am 90% sure that plant will not survive. Crazy!!
Thanks! 😃 and now the sticks are ROOTING in the vase. So maybe they’ll get some green growth on them soon! Sometimes they’re still alive when I buy them but I thought these had been dried out😅
I follow Nick Alexander I think you would like him. Very smart and funny. In the same vein of how you plant (no drainage) Unplantparenthood and Youdontevengrowhere are amazingly good. I also follow Wildfern and Jazmina. Lowe. I love your mix for the anthurium 🖤🌸
I like you, unplantparenthood, Youdontevengrowhere, Nick Alexander, Hakunalaplanta, Wildfren, Houseplantygoodness, Kaylee Allen, Leafy Diva, Onlyplants. I know I'm missing many others but lately my top must watch.

You are soooo amazing. I always learn from you. Love your honesty. Your energy is so high. And you have such glowing skin. Could you please share where you find your nice, large, glass containers?
i potted my florida beauty a lil too deep in my last chop and extend , the bottom petioles rotted and infected the main stem and now everything bellow soil is dying ..... i don't even think i will be able to take a top cutting without it reverting ...currently I'm in a race between air layering and rott ...
This was funny AF! I always check out you of course, Pretty in Green, Rousseau Plant Care, Plant and Style with Peachy, Planted in Platinum, Only Plants, Sage, NxcPlants, Kaylee Ellen, Samantha Roxas, and waaay to many others.
well, you are now my new favourite plant youtuber :p but I like watching Leca Queen, Kill this plant, Sydney Plant Guy, and a few other BPOC plant youtubers
That's a great vase! Thanks for the dimensions. I'm always so unsure. I love Sydney Plant Guy, Sheffield Made Plants, The Leca Queen, Heart Shape Leaves (she crazy 🤣), and Plants With Kristal. Love you guys so much! You guys keep me entertained and teach me so much. A+++ creators! BTW, did you just eat that dead root?😂
Also is there any way you would consider seeing if you can source a queen locally thats already used to your local environment to try again? Or is the queen dead to you? 😆
I’ve tried that before, still didn’t work. Maybe I’ll try again in the future. But no one is going to sell their nice queen. They’re going to try selling their shitty looking rehab queen they can’t keep happy. And I don’t wanna buy an ugly one
@plantgayforlife oh yeah I completely get that, I bought mine when it was a 4 leaf seedling, she sized up really quick, you could always try a bebe and document it growing?
How long have you had him? How soon after you got him did you change the type of medium you use? Also, what is a more not beginner beginner friendly but the in between plant parent friendly type of anthurium?.. He is beautiful even though he's eating you out of house and home😂
3 years Immediately since he was an ecuagenera import Most cardiolanchium section anthuriums I would classify as intermediate since a pedestrian plant owner would probably struggle with most of them. meaning they’re not as easy to grow as a snake plant or a monstera
How do you know how much of the draining portion to put? I am trying this with a cissus javana and using just pumice for the drain. My container is a tall vase and the pumice is about as about 1.5 times deeper than a finger length, taking up about the bottom third of the vase. Which seems deep, but I'm not sure if that makes a big difference? The plant is young and has fine roots to begin with, so I'm also worried about using too much moss if that's possible.
There’s no clear cut rule but I find that 1 inch is enough regardless of pot size, if a plant likes it wet and can’t tolerate drying out even slightly, I will make the reservoir deeper than 1 inch so water can sit on the bottom and keep the roots hydrated longer
@@plantgayforlife Thank you! That was my reasoning as well with this plant. To my knowledge they are a lover of damp but ONLY JUST, and just kind of finicky overall. Ugh. So my hope is that this method will let it sort itself out with minimal intervention on my part lol.
Other than your page, I like youdon'tevengrowhere, Pretty in Green, NXCplants, and Proppist are the only ones I watch as soon as they come out but I also like Gardening in Canada, Aloha Plant Life, the beardedplantaholic, and there are some random ones like Nick Alexander who needs to post more. I mainly watch only anthurium pages now, but not only.
Pretty in Green; Houseplanty Goodness; Worcester Terrariums; Kill This Plant; and the one with Claire and Yoli (can’t remember the name); Sydney Plant Guy
Why would you put it in moss? Moss is so hard to work with. I don't think I haven't had anything rot in it. Also what is that wonderful tree branch things?
That sack you threw away and off that branch was praying mantis bebes, lol but I watch Wildfern, Sydney Plant Guy, you of course 😂, youdontevengrowhere, un plant parenthood, houseplantygoodness, onlyplants, Kaylee Ellen , lol just pretty much anyone those are my mains though..
@@plantgayforlife was probably on there when they cut the branch and dried out, that or you have bebe manty's aka free pest management in your apartment 😆
I watch a few others. Some are good, and some just rant about their lives. I find that they tend to explore new content by putting make up on, then taking you shopping. I have no interest in that. It has nothing to do with planting. Clearly they have no new material, but let’s face it. You can only talk about so much… I don’t have any Anthuriums. I’m not sure if I want a huge collection. I have about 30 plants. Im trying to put my plants in glass like you. Just experimenting… I like your music too 😊
Thank you! Oh girl you need at least one anthurium! There’s so many low-fuss ones! 3 very different ones I would recommend are Clarinervium, vittariifolium, and luxurians x radicans.😁
I’ve used grapevines for support and I place them strategically around my plants to discourage my cats from attacking plants. But I haven’t used these types of branches. I bet they’re more cost effective so I’m definitely going to look into them. Totally get that you may be trying to avoid hitting roots but if you push the ends of the branches more towards the center of the pot, it might look nice. The idea being it might look good if the ends in your substrate are hidden. You can also attach stems to your branches instead of just have your branches provide support. There are lots of fun options. Even just using a taller vases to keep the stems pulled in can work and is great for future proofing your pot. When I use clear stakes for shaping, I try to use them closer to the center and attach the stem higher to cover as much of the stake as possible with the stem and leaf. I love unplantparenthood because Charmaine has a great planty style and perspective and I love her stories. I love youdontevengrowhere because Alice shares helpful advice and comes across as so lovely. killthisplant is great for basics and is entertaining and so practical. Sydney Plant Guy is smart and puts the work in and I enjoy hearing what he has to say. I also enjoy the other people he includes in his video. The LECA Queen uses a different approach but gives great information and provides context around what works and what doesn’t. Houseplanty Goodness is all around good. There are so many other channels I enjoy but those are my favorite active channels plus yours obviously.

Moss is good if you're an underwaterer which he said he was moss retains moisture which can be added to limit dry rot.
