I am remaking cushions for my 1960 camper The cushions have a weird vinyl bottom can I use fabric instead? there is an odd sleep cushion that has a jointed folding back cushion. two separate sitting cushions and separate backrest cushions . can I use 26/26 6inch for all in foam.?
    Nancy Hench
After watching your videos I realized I bought poor quality furniture.
I have a leather and microsuede sectional couch. The lower part of the couch is leather and the seat and back cushions are micro suede. I need to replace the cushion padding and I’m assuming I will need to reinforce the base since I currently sink into the base.
The back cushions have a zipper at the bottom. So one of your videos really helped with that.
For the bottom cushion, the microsuede seat cushion is sewn to the leather base. The seams are actually under the seat cushion so you can’t really see them unless you try to pull up the seat cushion. I realize I’m going to have to take a seam ripper to the seams below the seat cushion to separate the cushion from the base. The current seat cushion is 8 inches high. I want to be able to sit on it without falling into the cushion so deep that I need someone to pull me out. I also want to be able to put 2 sections together and sit where the 2 sections meet without feeling like I’m sitting on a fence where the center section is really hard.
What would you recommend for the base reinforcement, springs, boards or something else? And what would you recommend for the thickness, density, and compression for the foam since it is a minimum of 8 inches thick?
If you have any questions leave them in the comment section below!
For the giveaway, we can only ship in the Continental United States. In later giveaways, we will be able to ship/deliver the prize out further. Once we randomly pick the winner, we'll contact them on how to get the giveaway. All participants must subscribe and like the video. You can also get your whole household involved since there is no limit to the number of enters per household! The Winner will also be announced on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YoutTube!

This is so encouraging - our loveseats are still in really good shape - but the foam really needs to be replaced. Lots of years of enjoyment ... and homeshooling! I think my Answer for the contest would be 'D' - vanity chairs!

Guys, I would like your advice on something. I have a client that weighs 340 lbs. and he wants his chair to have a new look, I can definitely reupholster this monster, but I have no idea what size of seat cushion his chair will need. I have bought foam from you folks before and all I can say is it is outstanding, but this is a head-scratcher for me. The cushion is huge from what I deal with the chair measuring from the outside is 54 wide 40 inches tall and the cushion is 27 wide and from back to front is 29. I am giving you measurements before adding margins or you call it inseam allowance. This thing I would call a chair in a half size, but the best part is it is widdled out of Solid wood. I tried to take a picture of it but my camera died I think this thing killed it. Best part NO springs, so cushion would have to be very firm but sittable. I am not sure if sittable is a word but it is now. I just came home from having what they thought was a heart attack and I just wanted to go back to the hospital. The little gal who took it is new and very sweet. She wants to learn this art and believe me, I think she is going to with this piece. If I can get my camera to work I will send you a picture of this elephant, you would not believe it Also he speaks only German so I think I might struggle some with this. Great video guys, if you can I would love suggestions. Nancy Staggs

      Hi Nancy,
It’s always good to hear from you! Sorry to hear that you were having some health complications earlier. I hope everything is well now!
So is the current cover 54 inches wide by 40 inches deep? If so, that is a very large cushion!
Also, in regards to compression for your client’s seat cushion that is really up to your client’s preference. Though, since he is a bigger guy I would suggest 35 compression.
We look forward to helping you with this new foam order! We’re really glad to hear that you love your new cushions.
If you’d like to discuss this over the phone please contact us via email at videos@urbancastlesolutions.com with your phone number and we’ll give you a call.
      All the best,
      Grant

@@ucsolutionsgivingmore Grant, I do not believe I am going to do this chair, put it on my mighty lazy susan and it fell off twice. I had to have help to get it back on and I am not feeling like I can manhandle it. So maybe the local hero can do it. I am supposed to be on total bed rest, but sitting on my as_ for 5 days is not how I roll. I do have two vanity seats and a day bed to do. So I am busy. That chair must weigh 500 bs, or I am just weak. It isn't hard to staple it is solid wood. My lady with the vanity brought me in some beautiful fabric, but I just do not think it will be enough, it is very old but good fabric. I, of course, cannot find it anywhere. Ever have just one of those days. I have a think book that I use to write done all my questions and answers, so if something like this occurs again I can just look it up. Like the compression of chairs for heavy people like the one we discussed, and it is very useful. I want to Thank you so much for your help both of you, you are so charming and keep those videos coming I do enjoy them.
