    Tip 1 : Make the Equaliser Setup-Up Window wider :) way easier to fine tune stuff. Also: my module started making a 5tone beep (which can be heard in the video) after I started programming it; that's the low battery alert, and can be disabled in ConfigurationTool 3.0.70 (the programmer feeds it only 3v3)
    Tip 2 : To make the whole thing faster & easier, you could actually just "Merge" the parameters file created by the Universal Front End (write 1KB instead of 32). This didn't work too well under Windows 10 though
    Tip 3 : In order to get to editing the current configuration from your device, the Download Params button doesn't seem to work: instead open the Live View (the glasses icon) and close it.

      Dude I think so .. it's a really clever chip and CSR does some pretty solid work (if not the 8635, than surely the csra64215), but ... it's wildly beyond my scope

    Hey Darieee,
    You've been incredibly helpful by answering all of my previous questions but I'm still running into an issue here.
    Just to check if my work had succeeded I decided to make a shit setting, just like you, so I could here if everything was right. So, I added the shit parameters to the 'dump', created a new filed which i called shit settings so I would save the dump and merged the new file with the old one. Pretty hyped about the completion of het merge, I disconnect the usb spi from my amplifier, boot it up, play some music, just to find out it doesn't sound like shit at all... I decided to reconnect and make a new dump of the current settings on the board and upon inspecting the new dump I saw that the shit parameters WERE there! They were in my new dump, and thus in my BT Chip, but they didn't work. I checked all boxes and the shit settings did work when i applied them with the CSR universal front end.
    Have you ran into this problem too, could you help me solve it? Would be great if you could!
    Thanks in advance!

    • @Darieee
      @Darieee  Před 6 lety

      Hmmm, no.. didn't have it..
      Usually people miss one (or more) tiiiiny details ...
      Have the thing connected - and playing
      Pull up the frontend, press the glasses, do you settings WITH the music playing
      Press the glasses again, hit save dump
      Then go to the pstool, and merge
      ! For example, try Factory Reset all in PSTool, them merge one of my untiuched dumps, then merge your eq
      You might have a corrupted batch of setting for the eq, and the chip can't parse them when it's reading them from it's memory (actually - I think it's that)
      "Merge" in PSTool is only additive :: you can't remove stuff with it :: only by hitting factory restore all

SPI_EN is already solderd on the board. but i don't know if its powerd and if that could be the problem. The amp is powerd so the blueetooth board gets power as well.

      Try doing the Restore/Erase All thing in PSTools, reflash a known good psr, then redo the steps
      Also, if you brick it far enough that it doesn't boot, try connecting the various button pins (one by one) to COM (internal 1v8 rail) at bootup -- sometimes that gets it to boot

One additonal tip: if you have the module with the 5VDC breakout version, you should connect 5VDC to the VCC and connect also ground to the external power supply. The programmer module only has 3,3VDC and that is not enough for the DC/DC converter on the breakout module.

    • @Darieee
      @Darieee  Před 7 lety

      +Tim Kutscher mmm, but it doesn’t have to : the 3v3 I’m connecting goes directly to the input of the CSR8645; the dc-dc converter takes 12v in so that’s out of the question anyway [or did I get this completely wrong ? also - you’re most welcome]

    • @MeinErsterKanal
      @MeinErsterKanal Před 7 lety

      I think you got me right. But on my board is the B0503S/D-1W (1W, FIXED INPUT ISOLATED & UNREGULATED SINGLE OUTPUT MINIATURE SIP/DIP PACKAGE) and this one needs 5VDC in.
      Maybe you can describe in more detail where you connected the power supply.

    • @Darieee
      @Darieee  Před 7 lety

      +Tim Kutscher yours does in that case need 5, BUT ! if you’ll check my “renaming the csr8645” video where I go into greater detail on connecting, I (hope I) said to watch out for the GND connections; one goes to the dc-dc converter, the other one directly to the BT Chip GND. When you connect the programmer, use BAT (for the 3v3) and the GND closest to it

    • @MeinErsterKanal
      @MeinErsterKanal Před 7 lety

      Darieee yes of course I watched the other video first. I watch this part more than one time to figure out how YOU connected the power. But I didn't get how you did it. Compression : I'm not sure what you mean by this, but the "Compander" stage is a sort of AutoGainControl which limits the maximum volume dynamically
      And delay ... yea, more DSP stages you add larger it'll be; on this note consider upgrading to the CSRA64215 chip - much nicer

    • @dyllgold
      @dyllgold Před 4 lety

      @@Darieee Yeah compander, probably that's what I was meant to say. I want to add kind of dynamic sound and or dynamic bass to sound deep and refined. • @Darieee
      @Darieee  Před 6 lety

      I am 90% sure you can't
      Technically, you can write your own DSP firmware and have different EQ stages for each channel, but - with the stock firmware, as previously mentioned, not possible
      If you find out how - do let me know - I know what you're after - and I'd totally be interested: get 2 CSRA64215s working in TWS mode, one left, one right, each module driving mids/highs and bass directly filtered ... the dream

      The 5+5s are amplified - what I’m configuring here is unamplified (in the case of these boards they just contain a chip that turns the signal from differential to single ended.

      @@Darieee if i can download it someplace. Is TX supposed to be connected? Is SPI_PCM the only pin that needs a resistor? I have SPI_PCM (w resistor), BAT and POWER_EN going straight to 3V3 (on the SPI adapter). I have CSR GND and LED's (w resistors) to SPI gnd/ Correct thx!

      I don't really get what you're talking about, but I could point you in some direction regarding the windows

    Dude, there is another way to install this software on Windows 10. Change the compatibility to windows 7 in the properties of the programme (run this program in compatibility mode for).

      Gladly! You seem to not have yet bricked any of your modules - once that happens you'll be running a 32bit vm in no time
      Also, do consider upgrading to the CSRA64215. The same modules (isolated / 5+5W amplified) are now available for it as well, and there the software is compatible with windows

      @@Darieee I am actually pimping the Logitech Bluetooth module (CSR 8630). I successfully rename the device but, I can not touch the equaliser settings apparently. It's always says, kalimba not ready(Could not acquire interlock - 'ack' was not received. Winsock says 'connection timed out') also, showing a error message, Kalkockd Error.

    First of all thanks for your videos, I wanted to check the following: I am working from a PC that has Windows 7 32bits and I was able to run the "PSTools" without problems and change the name, with "CSR Universal Front End" I have not been able to configure it, I get the following error "The transport USB SPI (00547) cannot be opened. Ensure that the device is connected and enabled." I did the procedure as samples in the video to play music before connection and nothing. If you can help me I would appreciate it.
