Hi Emma - I’ve been watching watercolor videos for several years now. With you doing these swatches and explaining how they work with each other and actually showing it as you went was the best video ever on color theory.
This helped me more than all of the videos put together to do color mixing. I’ve had trouble knowing what color to add to make the variation that I’m trying to get.
I love the color combos you chose for this painting. It’s so pretty and as you said the colors do compliment each other. Thank you so much. Looking forward to more videos in this series. 💕☀️🌸
So pretty 😻! Thank you 😊
Love the color combination
Love this tutorial probably because they are the first flowers that turned out ok and I did it on a cheap Dollarama sketchbook.
Love this color scheme! Great tutorial! Thank you!
I am always drawn to your color mixing videos... :)
Perfect timing! Over the weekend, I made two color wheels while following along to your recent video. I wake up today and found this little gem of a video waiting for me. Thank you for such wonderful content. Your instruction and talent are truly inspiring. Much love and appreciation from France. 🙏🏼🎨💚
Although I lean towards landscapes and seascapes I found your demonstration inspiring enough for me to want to try it. I know that it will not be as easy as you made it look but you have made it worth the effort. Thank you for taking the time to produce this video.
I have been searching for some color ideas and painting ideas that I can hang in my living room , and I think I just found it! Thank you so much for this tutorial . Beautiful colors!❤️🖌
good information thank you Emma and a lovely painting
Beautiful! Love the complementary colours you chose!
😋 Love the complementary colors using peach. Looking forward to more in this fun series ❣️
Great instructions, Emma! And the painting is very pretty!
So pretty! Thank you. My mom was a painter. She would’ve loved.
I love complementary colors combination! these flowers look very lovely 😍😊👏👏 My illustrations are usualy very colorful but I try to make them harmonious and cheerful 😀✨✨✨ this color combination turned out beautiful! thank you for sharing this and lokking forward to the second part 😀👏👏 Have a great day! Marija 💖😊
I was just trying to explain a little bit of color theory to my husband last night and telling him how I needed to work on it! This is a beautiful and fun tutorial! LOVE these color combos! Thank you, Emma!
Love your videos - very helpful and beautiful and relaxing to watch and learn! Thank you!
Very pretty!
I’m learning color theory. This is perfect timing. Thanks.
This was very helpful ! I had no idea that orange and blue worked together in this way. My version of the blue that you made for the leaves was super granulating ( Daniel smith French ultramarine with W/N cad orange )made the most beautiful dusty blue that separated a bit as they dried and just added something so special and beautiful to the painting! Thanks for the tips!
Beautiful!
Fun watching you mix colors. Lovely piece! 💙🧡
So pretty! Love it 💕!
Good info and oh so pretty!
Gorgeous! Love how you added the different leaves ❤
This is lovely Emma! I would never have tried to use orange and blue in a floral, but I love what you did here!
Love it!
I love this combination. I usually go toward pinks and reds and then the green leaves, I really love that you have incorporated non traditional colors on the leaves. I am definitely going to try this. Thank you for the explanation and tips.
Beautifull!
Thank you for this. It was helpful and inspiring. Since the pandemic I've been feeling so uninspired and not even wanting to spend time in my art space, but I am itching to go and have a go at this. I do love your style of working with watercolor!
Thank you Emma! You explain the color wheel so simple and understandable!! Very nice!! :)
Excellent💯👍👏
Loved this! Thank you. Could you link the other tutorial you mention? “Binge watching flowers”… I think you said but I can’t find the playlist. Thank you.
Beautiful! AND informative. Thank you
Very nice
Nice art
Emma, have you used watercolor markers? If so, could you do like a tutorial on how to use them please? If you haven't, I would love to see a video of you trying them! I had a company send me a bunch of them but I can not figure out the best way to use them. Love your videos!
Hi there! Here’s a video I did a while back. The only time I’ve really used them.
czcams.com/video/W9IVoSznWqU/video.html
Love it xx Thank you
Awesome information Emma - could you possibly do a tutorial sometime on explaining warm and cool colors more and how you differentiate or know which colors are which?
I have one! Here it is! czcams.com/video/WUpgjfkRhNU/video.html
Emma, you are my most favorite teacher ever. Just sayin’!💕
Thank you so much for these great tutorials! Im new to watercolor and its overwhelming. Im finding i am gravitating towards quinacridone colors. Why are they called that?
How about painting the other complimentary colors too? A complimentary color painting comparison
Beautiful! I needed that explanation at the beginning. I haven't make a colour wheel yet but this video is giving me the itch to make one! I'll give this floral piece a try maybe this weekend :) Have a wonderful week! xo
Nice
