slol28 "drug cheater. a year ago this guy could only jump 2.28m but in this competition he cleared 2.37m and then in the olympics he couldn't get over 2.29m because he knows the samples are tested then kept for few years to be tested again."
You are wrong and it upsets me that people like you would make such ridiculous claims.
First off in "this competition" I cleared 2.35m not 2.37m. Although at the USA champs I cleared 2.37m that year.
Here is my progression jumping since 2005
    2005 2.26m Indoor 2.30m Outdoor
    2006 2.29m Indoor 2.32m Outdoor
    2007 2.29m Indoor 2.33m Outdoor
    2008 2.32m Indoor 2.30m Outdoor
    2009 2.36m Indoor 2.34m Outdoor
    2010 2.34m Indoor 2.30m Outdoor
    2011 2.34m Indoor 2.37m Outdoor
    2012 2.32m Indoor 2.36m Outdoor
    I have cleared over 2.32m 22x and have cleared over 2.34m 10x
So you are wrong about me clearing 2.28m a year before this competition. Actually you are so far off I dont know what to say.
I am probably drug tested about 15x plus times a year and last year was injured, I tore a ligament in my foot (anterior tabofibular ligament).
In 2012 I had a partially torn ligament before the games and aggravated it in the qualifying round of the games and was hurting for the finals. There is only 1 day off between qualifying and finals and I didnt have time to let my foot recover from the aggravation. I know i do not need to explain myself but it really upsets me that people can be so ignorant. I work hard everyday to try and get myself back to that form and with that and help from God I hope to be back jumping high again this coming year! We will see what happens. God has a plan for my life.
I appreciate all the positive feed back as well. I wanted to tell alll you young jumpers work hard and good things can and will happen!

I know what you mean. No one really cares for track and field in the UK. but stick in it when you get older, I used to be the same as you, did it all and won it all. but learn from my mistake, I got too comfortable with winning, even without training. my mistake in the end. as i reached my later teens i lost much of my talent as the guys i used to whip got faster. still do athletics for fun now though :) but keep training hard, you'll be glad you stuck at it in the end

All I ever do is practice. We didn't have practice tonight, two many kids were gone for a movie thing the school went on. So I stayed after and still practiced. It catches the coaches eye when you do that.

He twice increased the world record, to 2.44 metres (8 ft 0.06 in) on July 29, 1989 in San Juan and to the current record of 2.45 metres (8 ft 0.46 in) on July 23, 1993 in Salamanca. Sotomayor also set the current world indoor record of 2.43 metres (7 ft 11.67 in) on March 4, 1989 in Budapest.
