My wife, God rest her soul, was an engineer. I never grow tired of listening to engineers geek talk :-)

There's something to be said about students who go to GA Tech versus UGA. Tech students take their studies more seriously and the academic standards are quite high. I view a number UGA students as party animals and easily distracted from pursuing a decent education their parents had worked hard for. When I was in high school, the athletics director, the late Vince Dooley, had a lot of classes posted an open letter to aspiring young athletes, namely football, join their squad with very low scores of having a C or 2.0 or better to qualify. The late Father Ted Hesburgh, president emeritus of Notre Dame University, had a much higher standard for athletes to represent their school...B average or 3.2 or better...NO EXCEPTIONS!
I'm sure there are a few hard working students at UGA who stand out, but one hardly ever hears about them as compared to aspiring star athletes goin into the pros.
