I agree with Matt’s take on the Subaru. Sometimes I’m driving and it feels like I’m struggling to keep the car centered, then I notice lane keep assist is on and once I turn it off, magically I can keep it straight again. Those systems are awful for anyone who understands where exactly on the road their car is.
I bought my ‘17 forester xt specifically WITHOUT the eyesight system. One of the best choices I made in my purchase.
@@James_cowley that’s another reason to get the new GR86/brz in manual. Cause the autos have eyesight
Every one I've ever driven feels like its made out of brick and motar
My mom had a 2012 Outback and apparently the way the front suspension was set up from the factory the steering would want never return to center. If you turned the wheel and let go it would just stay. It was the worst to drive on the highway, need constant steering input to stay straight. I think it was fixed in later years.
@@serfnuts It seems ALL Subarus of that era were wretched to drive above 75 MPH and I just didn’t understand why
Chargers are everywhere, I love em and hate at the same time
Haha, I went in the same way on Clarksons Farm.. I was bored one night, like wtf is this.. 4 hours later still watching. I loved it
Jonny has lost a lot of weight. Good for him, that's no easy thing
It would be hard to carry around that much fat and ego at the same time.
Mad mike's drift comp is called drift shifters and it's based on a pinball machine with heaps of different sensors that measure angle and proximity. It's like a 2 minute run to get as many points as you can by the end. It started on the waterfront in Auckland New Zealand for the first two years then in 2019 they had it in the UK just before covid became a problem. Total awesome event hopefully they can run it again!
The sound of the ice hitting the bottom of the crystal is really nice.
Our Man in Japan is really good as well.
Hammond's Workshop is good so far.
I wish Hammond would do less skit type stuff; the shop guys and him are good enough by themselves without him having to drag his family into it. I agree though, solid programs all around
you guys are so goddamn good to listen to (even better with a glass of bourbon).
This is the dream podcast team right here
If there is no feel using a sim, you’re using the wrong sim/wheel. And the main benefit is that you can get a pretty good rig without spending 1/10th of what getting a real car and racing it
Generally, when real-life drivers have trouble with sims, it’s not due to the steering wheel transmitting too little feedback on weight balance and grip. It’s the impossibilities of using ///1: your depth perception to judge distances and ///2: your inner ear to sense the most minute change in the forces acting on your body, and therefore, the car (fore/back, left/right, up/down, rotation, yaw…). in the forces acting on your body, and therefore, the car (fore/back, left/right, up/down, rotation, yaw…).
Had no idea Tony was from Doylestown. Hearing the Maple Grove story was really cool. I grew up about 5 miles from there.
The MRolla and the FX32 still race in lemons I am the current owner of the FX32 and both drivetrains are now manual and it is a blast to drive.
Window Jane is made in my neighborhood of Red Hook Brooklyn. come get some.
Man I wanted to hear Tony talk more about drifting and FD but he was interrupted so much lol
Hearing jonny and Tony’s description about motortrend it kinda clicks together why Jason left imo.
Timestamp, please.
Also i believe Jason left due to a close friend dying.
@@Orcawhale1 What friend died and why did that make him leave?
The scoreboard returns!
Jonny flexing the Doxa Sub 300. Well done my friend.
Thumbnail made me doubletake thinking the Salt Bae was joining the podcast.
Drift bae
That engine couldn't spin that tire,.. 😳 bahahahaha.. love the show also a friend of mine owns a shop in md called MA motorsports they build alot of these fd cars and I've seen up close the fab work is amazing and they're like 250k to build.... they're no joke. The talent is insane in car control in drifting
Talk to your state representatives about whether or not they are pushing the rpm act to pass, imperative to the future of modifying cars for amateur racing! Especially drag racing. If you are reading this we need your support!
I'm in the Bay Area and Taconic is starting to show up in local liquor stores.
The CA smugness is fuming.
What a good episode!
Good morning from BC Canada gents.
From BC but moved away. How's the weather?
This is a great episode
Taconic Distilling stuff tends to be in the $35 range in my part of NY. If you guys think it’s good at $55+ I feel like I’m getting a screaming deal.
Great podcast
THERE'S AN LMP1 DRIVER WHO DID SIM ONLY PRIOR. He's a successful driver.
The Subarus will make the steering wheel limp to cause you to steer back into the lane. It makes you drive like a drunk on the highway. Turn it off and the steering is fine. Nothing great but fine.
28:23 With a big enough cam that Chevelle can play the intro to Hot For Teacher.
I love a beyond hot for teacher can that snaps over so hard every cylinder fires like a tight cannon line
Lmao... I love these kind of friends... They keep you in line... Johnny will stew in a fart and then give the best advice on what they should be eating☺️
Do you think you could rig something up so we can see your large screen when you google stuff?
What is that watch that Jonny has on its surprisingly cool?
Looks like a Doxa
Your therapist ad has a audio problem that is basically the same sound my head makes when I'm having an anxiety attack.. that's one way to convince people to go see a therapist 😜. Looking forward to your podcast bud
on his old watch podcast, he said having two motions is like having two engines, it stupid and pointless.
Anecdotal information, but the iPhone 10 is the most obnoxious phone creature ever. The second I start up any of our vehicles within 50ft of the house...my girl's iPhone 10 is instantly blasting Lana Del Rey or YelaWolf in whatever vehicle just start fired 1 cylinder.
They have Arctic school busses in Yellowstone National park for winter tours
Needs Lexan protection at SEMA as if a viral presence wouldn't be circulated through the HVAC system, raw dogs his hand into the ice cup. Logic at it's finest.
Keeps the people away
It also seems likely everyone in the studio is fully vaccinated. That definitely won’t be the case at SEMA.
Tony becomes calmer as his hair leaves the room... Lol good guest though
when will sema become the “cool” thing again. im guessing its gonna take atleaast another 5-10 years 🤣
matt needs to shut up sometimes and stop interrupting guests.
Zack will nail an absolute perfectly timed joke sometimes...everyone else dying...Matt, full steam ahead, zero response.
I wanna see more what you´re looking at and talk about, feels a bit left out when you´re laughing at
shit and i have no idea what you are looking at
Love everything you do otherwise, just that part would be nice to see what you all find so funny
Weird to hear someone like tony who works on cars simplify shit to a guy like Matt who likes cars but couldn’t put a exhaust on a car
Lets go Brandon.
I wish this podcast had Adam Corolla on it
