  • Stargate (1994) - Connection with Hieroglyphs by Daniel Jackson (James Spader).
The Hieroglyphic translation was assembled by me to the closest approximation of the pronunciation spoken by Daniel Jackson, when reading the text on the wall. The story is fictional and not part of the ancient Egyptian history. Enjoy the video and leave any questions in the comment section.
NOTE: Stargate is a work of fiction and not grounded in any historical evidence!

@@EgyptologyLessons shouldn't "ntr" be pronounced like "naata" with the r dropped at the end like "naafi"

@@abdelfattahtarek838 keep in mind. This is a made up dialect, that we don’t actually know what it sounded like… We did get the best and closest approximation with what we have. And they were many different dialects from different regions and different periods of time. She chose to drop the R, because they did that for the show.

    Some mistakes:
    - bA.n=f snn is incorrect. The correct version is bAk.n.f snn (k is missed from the word bAk in the transliteration, but there is the k-sign in the hieroglyphic inscription)
    - The word nDt is usually written in the false plural in Egyptian texts, so it is a group name. Therefore, the determinative should have been marked with the man and the woman, and below them the 3 strokes hieroglyph indicating the plural number. Or you could have simply left out the determinative, it would have been completely correct anyway.
    - The word nfr is written incorrectly in its hieroglyphic form. It should have been correctly written the horned viper instead of the water hieroglyph.

Yes you are correct 👍 I had missed the transliteration letters in a couple of them. And was sounding out the nfr and made a mistake with the hieroglyphs. Thank you for the you observation

Except everyone leaving his presentation, my favorite is when the sand drawing is obfuscated, just like Dr. Lee Clare did to me, denying that there are Seven Birds in a Row carved in stone on the base of Pillar 18 in Enclosure D of Gobekli Tepe.
