  • Dave Lieber is the national-award-winning Watchdog newspaper columnist for The Dallas Morning News, a prize-winning author and storytelling expert. For his investigative newspaper column, Dave receives 50 pitches a week for story ideas - and takes the best two. He knows how to find and identify memorable stories that people care about.
    About TEDx:
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Hilarious, moving, smart and educational. What else can you ask for. Dave Lieber not only knows how to tell a story, he can teach you how to tell your story.

It fuelled my simmering ambition (of becoming a public speaker). Thanks ted-ex, and thank you Mr.Lieber. And for a speaker's joke and presence of mind, I have a fridge named Liebherr at home. I bought it since it is German origin!

I've been trying to get into storytelling and this has been the best explanation I've heard regarding it. Definitely inspired me to go and tell mine.

I think you are the best of the best. You completely floored me when you replied to an email I sent you over a year ago. It wasn't a big important email, just one in which I expressed my frustration with the P.U.C and my realization they were not there to protect the consumer. I look to your columns especially often when it feels as though people have lost all ability to have compassion for one another. You and your stories remind me that there ARE people who care enough to stand for something and after watching this video I'm not surprised to see you love with all your heart. Thank you for sticking with us here in Texas, and please believe that at least on this occassion, sometimes we really DO mean it when we say Bless your heart!!
