I crate trained my border collie and he loves it. He's 2 and he will go in and out of his crate by himself and chill out or sleep. He has free reign of the house...but thats because he earned that right because i trust him. ❤ and your videos helped me establish that trust relationship early!!

I’m about to bring home my GSP puppy and your videos have put me at ease so much. To hear that it’s only 4 hours out of your day to help your dog adjust to life in your home is such a relief. My current dog is 14 and she’s very bright. I feel so equipped to care for and raise this puppy now that I have your help. I’ve never raised a puppy before but it sounds a lot like what I currently do with my dog but I’ve already trained her in all these behaviours.

My border collie pooch is now 7 months old. With the help of your videos, i now have a wonderful companion. I now trust her completely, haven't used the crate much in a few months. She still will sometimes go into her crate voluntarily. i have a great relationship with her, but continue to practice her recalls and other commands, tricks etc daily. Thank you for all of your videos, they have been so helpful and have helped me raise and train my puppy. Also, she seems to get her teenage phases a few weeks earlier than usual, she had her first at 3 months and her second one at 6 months, both i worked through within a few weeks and now am thankful that the big ones are over (hopefully) and hope i won't run into any more phases. She will be 8 months soon. I have one question, at what age can u consider most dogs trained;? A year old? or three years? Thank you for all your help)

Crate time is the best!!! My almost 5 month old Boxer puppy loves her crate time! It's enabled us to take her camping and to travel with her this summer without the stress and worry My sister has had with her non-crate 7 month old Aussie. The Aussie was insane at camping, and could have gotten lost a couple of times. Miss Boxer had the time of her life, but was safe and learned even more manners.

She is 4 years old and this has been her habit for 3 and a half years. I would love to give her like more free time but she will not have it. I love McCann Dogs ideas, but implementing them for us is another thing. I have a 3-month-old Golden Retriever who BARKS INCESSANTLY. No matter what I do, all your ideas, he hates the crate. He can't even hear me say ah-ah, or clap, or rattle the crate because of the barking. I am completely at a loss for this little guy. He has made the whole house in turmoil and my husband actually want to return him. I know puppies are supposed to sleep 16 to 20 hours a day, I'm lucky if mine sleeps for nine, and six of those hours are at night. He is vet checked and fine. Lord have mercy on us.

Hi there! I adopted a new pup, and this is actually my first time having and taking care of a dog, so I have a few questions regarding his attitude.
My puppy is 14 weeks old and he is a really distracted one. I've had him for 2 weeks, but he does not seem interested in any kind of food or treat that I have to offer, so I'm not sure what can I do to "bribe" him to do stuff. Ever since the first day when I presented him with a treat, he never showed any kind of interest. Not even in the food he was being fed with (just in case he does eat regularly, is just that once he has he cup, he does not like to anymore). So is there any tip to motivate him?
Also, is really hard for me to get someone to take care of him when I'm not home, so sometimes I leave him alone for a few hours, which I know is not right. Still i would like to confirm if it would be better to leave him on his crate or leave him a big space for him to roam free (i live in an apartment).
I know I don't have the best conditions for him, but any tip will be appreciated 🙏
Also, when should I start walking and bathing him? I'm been told to wait for him to get all his vaccinations before I can walk him or bath him (I've been walking with him while carrying so that he can familiarize with the outside).

Sorry but no. Pets are not toys and they don't deserve to be caged, ever. We had dogs all my life and the best training is to spend time with your dog. Works perfectly well, but it does require time and patience. Otherwise there are cats.

Hope your pets never have to be crated for the vet, an emergency, recovery, groom trip, vet trip, ECT. Not only do many pet business have to crate for safety (Protects Dogs from fighting of they chewed off or slipped a tether, or choking themselves) in emergencies like wildfires or flooding you will need to crate your Dog for safety both its own, and others.
If you do not train your Dog to be content in small or enclosed spaces, your setting your Dog for stress and failure. Because eventually they will end up in one. You don't have to keep them in constantly, but you need to get them used to it.

It’s not illegal in Sweden and Finland to leave puppies in crates. It’s illegal to leave them in a crate for extended periods of time with no intermittent supervision and reprieves. The laws there were written to enable courts to prosecute puppy mills easier, no one walks around looking for dogs in crates.
Animal cruelty…lol. List the studies that show crate training used as these people say is cruel. We will then go through those studies together to determine whether your opinion is accurate.
