They don't make comedies like these anymore. Kept me in stitches the WHOLE time!!!!!!!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
ITS POLITICAL CORRECTNESS THAT END IT , GREAT 👍 SHOW
Right on,😊 because now an ugly person may get offended.
They wouldn’t have a chance on today’s tv.
Nobody can fight like Fred and Esther. The only fight when the audience wins. The chemistry is obvious.
Pam and Martin came close
I can't possibly think of a better person to play Aunt Esther than LaWanda Page. She nailed it.
Red and La wanda a perfect pair.😂
@@brucecarpenter8640 Agreed. They played off each other perfectly, like Sam & Diane (Cheers) and George & Florence (The Jeffersons).
Indeed they did.
Except Maxine Waters. Aunt Esther, Maxine Waters...the same woman? YOU BE THE JUDGE!
@@lawrenceallen8096 That comparison is both preposterous and inane.
I can imagine how unbelievably hard it was not to laugh while they were hurling insults at eachother.
I'd like to see what did not make it to air. No way did they make it thru any one show without going off track a bit.
but when the director said cut , they were best of friends
I'm 62 & back then when Sanford & Son was on the air I would laugh my butt off at Redd Foxx as his insults ALWAYS made me roar with laughter. Just watching this brought back so many great memories. ❤
I'm happy to hear this.
Do you remember the "WELCOME SIS AND BROTH" banner? 😆
They were great friends in real-life.
They were childhood friends...
When you think about it, they had to have been close friends to be able to insult each other like that for most of the episodes in the time it was on tv (1972-77). Had they hated each other for real it would’ve gotten really nasty really fast.
They definitely were. 😂😂❤❤
When these two were fighting, and calling each other names, they had a special kind of chemistry between them. It made the show Ten times as funny!
This and All in the Family were my 2 favorite shows. I laughed so hard when on one episode Fred calls Esther Mighty Joe Young’s sister, mighty ugly.
It's a shame there aren't great tv shows like this anymore. As many times as I've seen these, it still makes me laugh so hard. 😂
Redd and LaWanda were buddies in real life. They knew each other since Elementary School in St Louis. they both came up doing standup comedy ....mostly on the "chitlin' circuit". (Comedians could get away with "more" there)
I heard that Esther, Grady, Bubba etc. were all of his childhood friends.
I have heard a little of her stand up and it's far from the role she played.
@@frankp2476 Well she'd talk about church and then be "say amen MOTHERF*CKERS!"
Really I never knew that wow, thanks for that info I learn something new today..
@@frankp2476 Some was.....some wasn't....It's Redd's Fred Sanford that was very different from his stand up.
Whenever you have A bad day, these 2 are the best to brighten your spirits. 😂😂❤❤ Long live Fred & Esther. ❤❤
You can tell that Redd and Lawanda enjoyed doing this bit. I wouldn't be surprised if they adlibbed these scenes.
fred and esther always going at it funniest stuff ever on tv no one will ever be funny as that
“HOLD EVERYTHING!! “ 🙋🏾♀️✋🏾😂
I was raised watching this show, back from 72 to 77...funny stuff...SUCKA'!!!!
My favorite is when Fred walks in the room, sees Esther and says: "I thought I already flushed my toilet!"
LMAO which episode is that? Also, which episode is it when Fred says, "There's no actress in the world that could play Esther. Unless they dig up Trigger."
😂😂😂
@@patrickwork6579The episode where Fred made the Trigger remark was the Steinberg and Son episode.
The way he said stop and then grabbed the birthday hat and then let it go!
We used to watch this when it came out. I remember my father laughing at these interaction. Now that I'm older, I appreciate this side of comedy more.
I couldn't stop laughing at all the insults that they threw at each other for years!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best Comedy period. Still enjoying it for 50 years. Awesome cast period. Talent at the best.
This was wonderful. Fred the GOAT. Thanks😂😂😂😂
Her Cameo at the beginning of the first Friday movie was so excellent laughed my ass off and still do rip LaWanda Page and Redd Foxx forever
The slam that the door makes always delivers. 😂
Love Aunt Esther
Fred too!
We need more people like Aunt Esther in this world. Fred was a hoot!
Woodrow and I are going to have a baby. Somebody better call the zoo! LOL😂
the last part speechless ...i laughter so much...that I got tears ...i miss this show....i didn't understand ..what they said before....but seeing their facial expressions...😂😂😂😂😂
THE BEST!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Hey Lamont, I can understand what you're trying to do son but, I got to take the bus.
It's too far to ride this horse to St Louis." 🤣
Will you stop following me horse??I have no oats for you😅
LaWanda killed it on the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast of Redd Foxx. She even nailed old Dino with a few "Wino" insults. She totally got into character, and the crowd adored her. You can tell that she and Redd got along well.
We couldn't have comedy like this these days. Someone would get offended and whine about it. This show was classic comedy - pacing - delivery - facial expressions. Amazing!
What in the world is a bean eating bear hugger? 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
A hippe..lol
Red Foxx was unbelievable. REST IN PEACE
Redd Foxx's method for keeping Sanford And Son spontaneous was absolutely NO rehearsals. He knew what he was doing. His method surprised a few well established actors until they watched the results and agreed that this method worked well.
The chemistry between these two was magic. They were brilliant together and the audience loved them. I laughed so much and so hard! They will be missed. Kids today have not a clue about what real comedy is.
To redd foxx and lawanda page on sandford and son one of TV best sitcoms ever to the actors and actresses who passed away my thoughts are with your family you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong true friends in real life God bless you guys thanks you guys rock way to go appreciate a good laugh and the memories job well done you should be amazed and proud way to go !!! Joe
"It's too far to ride this horse to Saint Louis." LOL ~
Poor Esther, Both Brilliant I Could Watch All Day Long.
Fred and Aunt Esther all way made me laugh and cry and the same time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I love the stare Esther makes, like she could kill someone.
I can't believe he was only in his early 50s when the show was filmed. They portray him as much older. I grew up to it.
The way that Fred pops that party hat on Eshter's head gets me every time. It's the ultimate smart alecky insult.
It’s like watching my dad and my mom’s older sister… they love each other but the jokes are brutal!
After I've seen it time and time again, they are still hella funny.loL
PRICELESS! Thanks so much for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a great show...I grew up with this....
Those were some rare zingers between Fred & Esther! 😂
You left out the best one when Esther tells Fred, "there's a story about me in the bible", and Fred smiled and said "now I remember, Sampson slew the Philistines with your jaw bone!"
CAN WE PUT THIS BACK ON REGULAR TV FOR AMERICA'S SANITY!🇺🇸❤️👍🏻
Not him saying “but I didn’t, so now I will” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Aunt Esther was always my favorite.
Esther: Who you calling ugly sucker?
Fred: You I can throw some tracing paper over your head and draw me a moose face. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Yo Aunt Esther wiped her ass, put the toilet paper in a frame, and called it a self-portrait!"
Watching the others trying to hold character while these two go at it was hilarious in itself, especially Rolo😂
I so miss the 70' and 80's great tv now it $ucks
Comedy G.O.A.Ts of all time. Rest eternally Redd and Lawanda; well missed. 🌹 🕊
Yo I need to watch the older comedians more often… I’m 33.. I grew up with Chappelle, but I know that my GOAT is inspired by folks like Foxx and Pryor… this was hilarious!
Ahhh...To be that young again as someone that's currently in his 50s. But then again, judging by the way things are going now, I'm not really sure I'd want to be.
@@jamesorsby7553 I often try to remind myself that instead of pining for my 20’s, enjoy my years day by day.. thanks for offering perspective!
Richard was something else
Sometimes it’s hard to believe these two were good friends in real life.
I love Freddie since I was a boy. I remember my parents used to sit and watch him and be in tears laughing. I'm always laughing, I think that's where i got my humor from.😂😂😂Sanford and son need to be replaced produced but with good actors just as funny as Fred.♥️💯✔️🤔
Thanks for putting this video together. It was a very popular show in its day. Lots of laughs. 😂
HILARIOUS 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Great job! Thank you!! 😂
The best!
I miss this show. These two were the best, love all the insults from them
Sanford and Son was great and gut splitting funny. The closest comedy we have that is as funny as them today is Qwan and Uncle Howard known as Choo Choo And Qwan on CZcams.😅
We only used to have 9 channels on TV. Never mind 100, 200 or 400. We had more GREAT shows on TV then .... than we do now. THIS show was great.
Comedy without cuz words 🤣 😂 😆 😅. Good old days 🤣.
Love this show. As well as Archie bunker
Sure do miss those days ..... wasn't nowhere the level of bullshit to deal with back then as there is today, that's for sure ....
No one could do "The Look" better than Aunt Esther.
The snapping of the birthday hat on her head was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂
One of the best shows of the 70’s , my brothers and me were always watching Sanford & Son never ever watch other shows like the Brady Bunch . To bad it wasn’t on longer, never could get enough of Redd Foxx , hope he’s out there somewhere still telling dirty jokes!
5:07 the lead up to a perfect comeback
That was simply beautiful. Thank you.
"you better put your liver where your face is!"
Best of times!
I love the show ♥️♥️♥️♥️
These two were just awesome.
The king of.dis!
Best comedy rivalry. TY❤
Thanks for making me laugh.
Lmao 🤣😂 that's so funny this had me cracking up I miss him he was so funny. I've seen every session of this show I love this old-school TV show thumbsup 😂👍
Had one of them trucks!
Love this
They were sooooo FUNNY TOGETHER!!!!
Love it! ❤ 😂
Priceless
Fred and Aunt Esther at just like Martin and Pam
This is hilarious!
❤😂🎉
A favorite segment was where Fred & Esther sang a few duets, like "Down By the Old Mill Stream" with a few routines thrown in.
I. Like. To. Know. Who. Wrote. Fred. And. Aunt. Esther. Line.?
I watch/listen to this while exercising and doing chores😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fred always picking fighting with Aunt Ersther just like Martian do with Pam picking fight with her on the TV show
I didn’t know that!
Esther wanted Fred to walk the "straight and narrow, " but Fred wanted to walk on the "wild side. "
These were surely days of heaven that many took advantage of and continually wish we could go back
They don’t make them like this anymore 😊
Them 2 together is too funny
I still watch it actually
Funny stuff! In real life, Redd Foxx and LaWanda Page were very good friends.
And to think the producers didn't want LaWanda to play the part. Redd had to lobby for her to get the role.
