I've heard some bg teachers describe both blitzing and hitting as separate game plans. They seem synonymous to me. Is there a difference?

Blitzing is a more aggressive and prolonged type of hitting. You keep on hitting, and diversifying hitting numbers, hoping to close your opponent out, often to win a gammon
