When James Dean met Sir Alec Guinness in September 1955, Guinness warned Dean about the brand new Porsche 550 Spyder Dean had just bought, saying that he’d be dead in it by the next week. 7 days after this encounter, 30th September, Dean was found dead in his Spyder after being involved in a head on collision. Dean himself knew the dangers of racing, one of his favourite pastimes, stating himself he didn’t think he would make it past 30. “What better way to die?” Dean once said about racing.
