  • I recently purchased the X-T50 and I believe this camera could be the best compact camera released in 2024. Here is my first review of the camera, a second video highlighting the video features is coming soon.

You could do what I have on my X-E4 for video which is set the button next to the shutter release to video record.

How do you like the power zoom lens? I am concerned i would find that annoying and am a bit torn about spending the extra for the xf lens.

Get the new XF 16-50 kit lens. It’s worth the spend. Super sharp, and on the X-T50 it’s a killer combo….that internal zoom is so good!

It's hardly a compact camera. When I was growing up a compact camera was an automatic 35mm point and shoot camera designed to fit in a pocket to make it convenient to travel with. Its a shame camera companies no longer make small, micro 4/3 or aps-c cameras anymore. I became frustrated waiting so have purchased a Samsung nx500. It may be ten years old but its very impressive - 28mp apsc sensor in a camera smaller than most. It more than holds its own today with some very impressive specs. Try and get your hands on one Bob and pair it with a pancake lens like 30mm f2 for a super portable and powerful outfit. I am hoping for a micro 4/3 version of the Panasonic S9 - I can only imagine how enjoyable that camera would be.
