❤ London City Walks, you are well appreciated for all your contents. I watch every morning, I was love your manner, beautiful easy sound of your voice, describing how it all works at Horse Guards . Thankyou❤ The Household Calvary is my Favourite, my Grandfather was in it, 1915, serving in Cairo Egypt in the Calvary. Much love and Appreciation from Australia. I was born in Wiltshire England, but have lived nearly my whole life here. 10 pound poms 😅. Anyway, Thankyou London City Walks ❤🇦🇺♥️🇬🇧👍🐴⚔️🛡️🌹♥️
Good evening John I look forward to this video thankyou xxxx
Stunning horse Sizzler xxxxx
The horses are bound to recognise your voice John xxxxx
What these civilians/ tourists need to understand is that they are in and around an active barracks. It’s impossible for the guards to get in the way of tourists, but it’s totally possible for tourists to obstruct the guards but they’ll be treated accordingly. The guards are on ceremonial duty and attract tourists. They are not on duty in order to attract tourists. Massive difference.
Tienes toda la razón ❤💪👏👍 absolutamente claro tu comentario🙋♀️💞
well stated!
Agree wholeheartedly. I wish tourists were not allowed.
Agreed
I am an American, and I had no idea that this was an active barracks and I would think most tourists don't know either! I don't understand that if this is active then why do they let people in and around, and with no x-ray machines for weapons! 😮😮😮
I feel so bad for the guards having to put up with so many ignorant tourists. I can’t even believe how disrespectful people are. Just WOW!!
I absolutely agree with you on that one 100% . They just don't have any common sense.
🤣🤣🤣🤣that wimp complaining that he's been pushed by a guard 🤣🤣🤣👋👋👋well done gaurd that's made my day 🤗
How difficult would it be for these tourists , having been close to the guard and mount, to raise their head and say thank you to him or her. Courtesy and acknowledgement of their service would go a long way to make these serving soldiers feel as though they are not just a tourist attraction there to please tourists !! Respect them for God's sake !!!! PLEASE !!
There is so many entitled individuals in world …that think they are above and beyond rules and regulations … if you get in the way of his majesty’s serving armed forces doing his guard duty you are going to get pushed out of the way … who the hell do you think you are ….get a grip of your self !!!
💯 percent agree 😮
John there is nothing wrong with your sense of humour carry on ❤❤
Please! We need comic relief watching some of these videos! 🙃
I love his sense of humor! Lol! Reminds me of, me! Hahaha!
My friend pulled the Queens coffin on the Gun Carriage. I will ever be immensely proud of him. 💙
The guy that got pushed by the guard what a big baby, and complaining to the police 😅😅 , love your commentary John ❤
The guard is working ,respect them
There are no horses better looking than another. All are equally as magnificent as each other.
It makes me happy that the guards were using their authority to control the tourons in their space.
Love our country, our soldiers and our beautiful horses. Respect them, when your at horse guards 🫡🫡 ❤
Absolutely agree
They need a sign that says
"If you see a guard walking towards you, move or they'll walk over you. No apologies, no whining allowed"
😂😂😂. 💜
I must protest John - you made me splutter my coffee over the cat, and she’s not happy. It was the “See you later - over dinner” that did it. Would you mind avoiding making any future quips when I’ve got a mouthful of coffee while in close proximity to the cat - she takes offence.
For the pearl clutching, politically correct lot out there who reach for the smelling salts every time you mention a group of foreigners can I just say there’s been inter-tribal rivalry ever since there has been interaction between been rival tribes. The French called us “le rôte beouf” (the roast beef) for centuries but we somehow managed to survive.
We can’t be the only country who has a friendly dig at other nationalities so why should we be the only country to feel we’re doing something wrong. Given the various nationalities visiting London in general and horse guards in particular they don’t seem too put off by our sense of humour.
And let’s be fair - the horses don't care which nationality they bite.
Don't people remember that thing y'all had with that Napoleon dude? How soon they forget.
I just love your sense of humour. You always have me crying with laughter. Keep em coming! 🤣🤣🤣
😂on dear you made me laugh, considering the guard hardly touched him he still had the cheek to complain ☺
It amazes me how well everything is in a time manner, everyone has their on duty and know when to perform it. Thanks John 😀
Ooh, those reins grabbing tourists, with No sense of caution at all !!🇬🇧🙄🐎
Love how you commentate! Ask yourself a question and then answer it! Informative and humerous! Well done!🥰🇨🇦
Your humour is just great. Without laughter, life is awful. It amazes me how often people ignore the signs. I watch the horses ears. They often indicate weird happenings. Thanks for everything.
Thank you for such kind words Michele! ❤️❤️
@@LondonCityWalks : Its my pleasure. You brighten my days 💛
Oh dear - there I was hindering the King’s Life Guard from carrying out his duty cos I was taking an all important photo when he very rudely didn’t walk round me or wait till I’d decided to move so, Mr Armed Ministry of Defence Policeman, I’m a tourist and I want him arrested.
Good luck with that.
Then we have the smart mum who grabs her child’s arm and pushes it’s hand close to the horse’s mouth. Very large teeth attached to a very powerful jaw could slice that hand off if the horse got agitated. But then it’s only a hand and she has another one so what does it matter.
Some people have absolutely no idea of the damage a horse can do. Just because they don’t give a warning roar or growl or hiss doesn’t make them any less aggressive when they feel they have to be.
They might not have seen a lion or a crocodile but would they go up to either of them at start pawing at their noses. A horse can be extremely placid - right up to the moment when it’s not. I think, if they chose to ignore the warning signs - both on the wall and from the horse - maybe a few photos of what a horse bite can look like would do the trick - there’s no language barrier in a picture. It might I still some common sense which many of them forgot to pack
Some People Are Willfully Ignorant of Respect towards others, yet expect enormous Respect for themselves.
They even take pride in their Disgusting behavior.
Sickening….
I never tire of watching this scene...Thank You.
I love how the horse reacted at 19:14
"No more scratches? 😐"
In the past I had a full blood Arabian, called Rebel, and rebel he was. If in the neighborhood and someone would try to grab the reins, they would be bitten in an instant. He tried to do it with me as well. Jep, southern temperament. He wasn't big, but he got everyone scared. They knew him well in the club. He also tried to do a gallop, while standing still, my back didn't like that. But I liked that kind of rebel's character. And he was beautiful, like the Guard's horses. BTW he is lucky that he didn't stand in the way of the Royal Guards, they would push even harder haha
I'm sure that guy gets bumped more at the market . what a big baby .
I love your videos. I have learned so much because you comment on everything concerning The Kings guards and the horses🤩
I love your banter about the French and other groups it reminds me that time long ago when we had banter between the Scots Irish and Welsh and no one was offended countless jokes about a Paddy a Taffy and a Jock etc. I loved the way you called the group Frenchies and the other day escargot! Your videos are relaxing to watch but I seem to be spending too much time watching and avoiding housework but keep them coming🤣
I have to laugh, while you are chatting about Ingo the horse, the Guard on his back is looking at you. The Guards must be getting used to having you around as I often see their eyes sweeping over you as you stand in front of them. Thank you John once again, your videos are a lot of fun: Kiwi
Churr another Kiwi I take it from your sign off

You are so funny! I love listening to you.
I am from the USA, I appreciate the commentary.
Same here!! And the humor! Lol
I am an Englishman living in the sometimes United states so love seeing my home ( my dad was a cockney, I,m from Barnet) as well as the brain of a well tourists.
Goes to police who are laughing 😂😂😂 if someone pushed past you in asda, you wouldn't call the police would you? Uggh so entitled
Good morning John. Same wet weather here but has turned to sheets of ice on roads and walkways. Could not even take my dog our for a walk. He is pouting now. Love your commentary, love your sense of humour. That is why I subscribed a few days ago. A joy to watch your videos. Take care. 🇨🇦
What part of Canada are you in?
Hello. I'm in Southern Manitoba.😊
I think the horse on the left must be new to the Life Guards, he's still sweet and friendly, that goes away the longer they deal with the tourists.
Unbelievable leaving a pram !
" Are you talking to me". Said the horse.🇬🇧😊🐎
These videos are so entertaining. I can spend the time just looking at those beautiful horses. Thank you.
You need to get a mug shot book of all the horses to know which is which. 🐎
I imagined that the man who got slightly pushed by a guard went to look for a horse guaranteed to stop walking forward if he stood in front of it. 😂
Hi John I like your sense of humour and if some people don’t then they don’t have to tune in. Keep up the good work 😊
The guard didn't even shove him., looked like he barely nudged/brushed him, and he goes to cry about it? Ugh. Pathetic. Especially when you should have been the one moving, not just standing there like a dummy.
all the guards and police seem to be on high alert today so anything can be deemed to be a potential 'threat' - navy personnel in town? means a ship is nearby -
hope the MOD police told him: "If you got in his way, or interfered with him in some way, tough titty, what did you expect for obstructing a soldier carrying out his guard duty? They’re not actors, you know - they’re highly trained soldiers on home rotation from war zones"
John, I love your sense of humor, reminds me of my dad and I inherited his humor. Keep up the good work ❤😊
Perhaps people thought if there was another protest there wouldn't be any use going to horse guards, so they went on Friday instead.
Definitely that - and the predicted rain and wind. No matter, today more than made up for it! 🙏🏻
Hi there, we follow your channel religiously, here in SA.You have a wonderful way of speaking, and we'd love to put a face to the voice. Please post a little pic of yourself. Thank you, kind regards ,Gail.
Thank you Gail! There is a face reveal on my TikTok with @nyc_kb 🫡😊👈🏼
The fool who didn’t appreciate the way the guard spoke to him, it’s not like he can say he didn’t realise the guy was a guard, the uniform is quite distinctive. As an aside, I’ve seen a couple of clips now where you’ve got people with flags or protest placards walking through. It’s not going to take much for an incident to occur if this is not addressed. Take the protest somewhere else but not around crowds with children, horses, people who don’t understand English and are not sure what’s going on and so on.
Good morning John. I love how you name the horses now. When they came to Scotland they brought a horse called Evelyn 💕🏴
I love the name Evelyn, if I had had a daughter I would have named her Evelyn, after my mum's cousin
@@marywood6270 My late mothers name was Evelyn.. great name .. great lady ...
Absolutely he is funny so real!!😅

Apparently, the old names are coming back. Great news.
@@veronicacrabtreehill6608 The old names are indeed making a come back the 2 latest additions to my family are Arthur 6 months ago and William last month so wonderful to see❤
Hahaha!! Like a little 5-6yr old kid. Going & snitching on their brother or sister. Whatta wimp! 🤣
Morning John. Lovely to see it’s not raining ❤
I love your laugh. 😊
I remember things usually not when I can use the information. But I'm ready today. I had a horse for a few years and listening out for a lose shoe was very important. Your lovely way of describing the sound of the hooves reminds of the poem For the sake of a nail a shoe was lost .......
Your commentaries are the best. Lots of tidbits. Better you there than me. I can't stand rude tourons.
Loved the shove and the whining to the police.
WHO puts a baby at risk like that up near a horse that could easily bite her face??
Lastly, the couple walking in through the gate looked like the Olympian equestrian, Zara Phillips Tindall and the retired rugby pro, Mike Tindall.
Waving from Vancouver Island.🇨🇦Would love to read your bio and how you came to do this.
I enjoy your channel because you talk as you film. The other channels are so boring because they just take video and never explain or converse at all about anything. Good job!
Thank you Laura! ❤️
Yes that’s why I only watch John now. I dont need a lot explained as I’m English originally & my parents took me to see the guards as a child. But I still learn SO much from John & of course being English I love his sense of humour!! 😂 in todays world so “politically correct” we need a little more humour to lighten the day!!! Don’t ever change John, we love you the way you are!! 🥰😁
WELL DONE ❤😂 Telling us the names of the horses
I this very interesting
Hello everyone. Just joined you for the aftrenoon. Already enjoyimg the video and narration.
Tour guides should know better than to carry flags .plus like your sense of humour
I know you call yourself the London traveler, but I think they call you John. why I ask is you’ve got a very reassuring voice that is very understandable and educating at the same time when you ask about the horses and you talk about your friends the French and you know it’s it’s nice to hear a good voice on the end narrating something and I do get a real laugh are the some of these tourist and some of the crazy crap they do I’ve got plenty of people in the United States that are very crazy themselves and they do some strange stuff also but do European bunch really a lot funnier I don’t know if it’s voices or just a behavior mannerisms totally funny😂😂😂😂
Is there anything more cringe than watching a grown 'man' go tattle on a guard for a perceived wrong, when it was his own fault? 🙄🤪 "He's gone to the tunnel to cry". 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes I remember seeing that pram Good job the police had a talk with them It could have been any thing in it They were lucky they didn’t take it away ❤
I’m surprised that the police didn’t search it and confiscate it for security reasons. Stupid people leaving a pram unattended!
Yes I thought it’s a safety risk there could be anything in there. In airports now if you leave a bag unattended they bring in security to make sure it’s not a b**b so I’m surprised they just let people leave prams.
So proud ….❤️🩹
Good job
Your in a jockey jovial mood today I’m enjoying what your saying 😆
afternoon John and love all the names of all the horses too
awesome as always thank you for your tıme once agaın A J
They shouldn’t allow dogs or bikes into horseguards
Those people on bikes or with dogs almost all live in the vicinity, the park is the other side of horse guards' parade, and has been a place for dogs and people to exercise for centuries! They've got a historic right, rather more than the tourists have.
Or tourists.
Why these crazy think the horse can wave or understand what the people are saying..lol
I love this Guard on the left. He always steers the horse over to people in wheelchairs. Heart of Gold
Keep safe next Sunday London xxxx
I simply love ❤ you!
Thankyou very much as always John xxxx
It’s nice to see tourists enjoying themselves and taking pictures. Most people are just nervous and feel awkward. I enjoy watching your videos, with all the different people. I don’t understand some people in chat being upset and angry, that’s crazy. Guys can’t you just enjoy the brilliant video. Love your commentary ❤
Your humor is just that British Humour, I get it all the time in America that most goes right over the colonials heads.
The Fringe is called a Forelock @London city walks xxx
I love listening to your comments. You're a complete fruitloop! I thought it was only me who had thoughts like that when people 😅. And you're right it is only humour meant in a friendly way. Carry on and continue to entertain the rest of us. 👏
He was at the very front pulling the gun carriage 💙 I’ve got so emotional remembering that xxx
Horse on left seams much smaller than usual but guard is great😊😊
I love the guard on the left, he's my favourite guard in the Life Guards. He has a beautiful smile 🙂🥰😍
When John focuses his camera on Box 1, I enlarge the screen size so I get a close-up of my favourite guard 🤭😍
Can you still get non slip studs for horses? We used to be able to get them, and they were very good.
Is it true that the horses names are named after Battles, and very, very important people, from days gone by ??
Yes, many are. Though not exclusively so. 🐴👍🏻
Yes - and not just from times gone too far by either. The Blues & Royals horse Twumasi-Ankrah was named after Major Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah who was made the Queen’s equerry in 2017.

Cups should be banned from near the horses.
Thanks for another tour.❤
That’s why there are puddles in the tunnel him crying 😂😂😂😂😂
The horses should have their names on their head reins so that we can recognise them.
On someone else's video I saw 6 police horses in riot gear riding south on Whitehall.
This that Iam watching would be Sunday we are Monday and it is also wet today
After the lady finally got her turn the gent on the left kindly let 4 different ppl pose before he took his turn...nice salute from the Guard to the passing Submariner too. Lady in pink jacket gets a boot nudge, goes straight over to the other Guard and gets yelled to get back lol. Perfect ending ...stay well and safe
They called the British roast beef. Wow doggone I thought I called the British limeys. OK new to me I’m a dang Yankee. I’m from New England Massachusetts, from the New World.😂😂
Tourists don't understand that they are not acting, they are doing what soldiers/guards do and if you get in the way, they wont move, they will walk over you. They might say sorry in there head, but can't say it and i'm sure many of them are sick of saying sorry when people should know by now that this is what they are required to do. It's the same if a guard falls over flat on his or her face. The other guards must ignore it even when they want to help to see if his or her friend is alright.
Saturday... Saturday... Saturday !!! Oula John, wake up. Today is *Sunday.*

I used to call the French 'Frogs' as did many people, and when we had French pupils in school as we did each year, en masse they were described as 'les tadpoles'! Not rude, just fraternal humour.
Nice to see you and hear your commentary Ah I have read there comments your name is John Goodmorning from Brisbane
Hey John, watching from Roanoke Virginia ( USA ) I just wanted to say how beautiful those horses are. 🐎
After watching some of his videos I'm starting to think that some tourists do it on purpose, that even those squeals have become part of the "trip to London" package and not a lack of respect
Just goes to show, when I was a youngster I’d have been mortified to be filmed being an utter twat, these days tho it’s no publicity is bad publicity even if you do look an absolute prawn.
It will be busy next Sunday 11th November is remembrances day
Saturday 11th November 2023 is "Veterans Day"....
"On the 11th Day, of the 11th Month, at the 11th hour",
"WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM".
Sunday 12th November is "Remembrance Sunday" held at the Cenotaph 🪖🪖
Normally on Remembrance Sunday Horseguards will be locked down with the heavy security presence and the number of Armed forces personnel and veterans
@@moyaingram7166 I guess that depends on where you are from. In Canada, it's all done on the 11th, and is referred to as Remembrance Day.
John i wish you had been doing this when my brother was doing this side of blues and royal.
Thanks
Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
John what made me laugh was when the guard moved to the other trooper and had to go past the police they were grinning and none of them warned the cry baby. I would have laughed if the guard had pushed him again
The best Life Guard ❤
I love hearing the foreign ladies figure out what the sign says. So cute!
