Watch the FULL bear encounters playlist: • 7 Bear Encounters That...
In this compilation video, we go over multiple clips from bear attacks, encounters and even charges. What makes these ''caught on camera'' moments so scary is the fact that they were filmed in remote areas like a forest, national parks, alaska, russia and canada.
Encounters with black bears, brown bears and even kodiak bears are actually way more common than you might think. They often happen to people who are hiking, camping, mountain biking or even hunting.
It just turns out that some of them were lucky enough to capture footage of these near death experiences that almost went wrong on camera and go pro. This leads to some very creepy videos.
Thankfully, many people on hikes carry bear spray, which prevents their bear encounter from turning into ''gone wrong'' viral moments.
Get ready, because these bear vs man moments that could easily be considered near death experiences are sure to give you the chills.

here is an easy way to identify the type of bear.
if you are being chased by a bear & you climb tree & the bear climbs after you IT'S A BLACK BEAR
f you are being chased by a bear & you climb tree & the bear knocks the tree down IT'S A GRIZZLY aka BROWN BEAR

Grizzly bears can climb trees, but because of their size and weight to them it is not worth it. I guess if they are hungry enough, they will climb the trees. Black bears are more agile and will climb the trees. Just imagine a polar bear near a tree either way the grizzly or polar a person is toast.

Grizzlies can climb too, just not as well as black bears. If there's strong enough branches to support their weight that they can get ahold of they can climb. Larger ones can't climb AS well but there's times they do. And all bear cubs can climb and smaller bears.

I get the chills everytime I see videos like this.
October 2020, 9pm-ish, and I was rolling the recycling bin out to the curb when I was confronted by a VERY, LARGE, BEAR.
At first I couldn't see exactly what I was looking at because she was near a tree, right by the front door to our 4plex. All I could see was this enormous mass, which it's back (not standing up on two legs) could have easily reached to my chin. I'm 5'11". Then she likes directly at me, and I could see the porch lights reflecting on her eyes and we just stared at one another. I slowly reached down for this pretty big 5lb rock and picked it up. In second I heard additional scurrying behind her (cubs I'm thinking) and she followed after them behind the tree in the opposite direction.
I think my ONLY advantage was that I'd had another large object with me, that doubled my size.
Startling experience, and one I'm glad I lived through!

Deadly assumption. Black bear almost never attack for cub defense. The mothers prefer to flee - and usher the cubs to safety. Barring obvious harassment/being cornered - nearly 100% of in-the-wild black bear attacks on humans are predatory in nature. Where they see you as food - and are trying to kill you.
Even rare cub-defense attacks can end up with the mother devouring the humans once she gets started. If you are attacked by a black bear for any reason - fight for your life. Black bears do not stop once "threat is neutralized" like a grizz.
(BTW - if they are human-habituated and eating trash near you - be much more afraid. That means they associate human smell with food. It's our scent on our trash. That's when they start to see human legs as drum-sticks. Notice the nips on the guy's ankle, and the other man's knee? Exploratory bites like that on grown men should make you afraid.)

That said, it's a wild animal, anyone would be moron to not take some precaution, especially if they have no experience being around them. It's technically possible to narrate a video in another language without knowing the language at all or understanding a word of it. as long as your pronounciation is ok.
It's the writer of the text who must understand the subject matter. The videomaker who chooses the images must then match them them to that text. Occasionally the video is recorded first, and then the text is written. Both ways, it's the writer who is most the most critical, the video guy is #2, and the narrator who is least important. Obviously 1 person can do any 2 of those jobs, or even all 3.
98 or 99% of people world wide know nothing about bears or any kind of wildlife. There's no reason why they would need to. There are no Brown Bears living in the Smokey Mountains as our narrator errantly says. A Brown Bear is a Grizzly Bear (and vice-versa). There are no Grizzlies in the Smokey’s.

Narrator was appropriately calling it BY NAME, not appearance. He got that part right. He just obviously doesn’t know that only Grizzlies are called “Brown Bears” while Black Bears are “Black Bears”, regardless of “color phase” or appearance.

Brown bears (Ursus arctos) are a species, Grizzlies(Ursus arctos horribiIis) are a subspecies of brown bears. Grizzlies are more inland bears like in the Yellowstone area and inland Alaska.
Browns are more coastal bears like in Alaska around the coastalines.

Bears will often “charge” in an attempt to frighten whatever they perceive to be a threat. When they do it is common for them to rush the person of concern as shown by the bear and the ranger who was directing traffic.
