  • Tanks, like aircraft, have their own indelible moments in military history that captivate and inspire. Our Ultimate Tank Compilation brings together four unforgettable chapters of armored warfare, all currently unfolding on the Ukrainian frontlines.
In the spring of 2022, as Ukraine’s tank reserves were depleted by relentless attacks, the T-84 Oplot made a dramatic comeback. After two decades of waiting, this formidable machine emerged from obscurity, its impenetrable armor and advanced systems transforming it into a crucial force in Ukraine's desperate fight against overwhelming odds.
As Operation Desert Storm raged on, the French AMX-10 RC, initially designed for reconnaissance, faced its own trial by fire. Speeding across the desert at over 80 kilometers per hour, these armored vehicles unleashed their firepower with precision, obliterating enemy forces without a single scratch. Now, these legendary tanks have been spotted once again on the frontlines of Ukraine, continuing their storied legacy.
The British Challenger 2, a pinnacle of military engineering with its powerful 120-millimeter gun, found itself in an unexpected dilemma in Ukraine during late summer 2023. Amidst the chaos of battle, a hidden mine immobilized this renowned tank, putting its impressive record and the skills of its Ukrainian operators to the ultimate test.
Meanwhile, the Polish PT-91 Twardy, an upgraded version of the Soviet T-72, stands as a testament to Poland’s resilience and ingenuity. Developed during the final days of the USSR, this advanced tank now faces the remnants of the regime it was designed to confront, highlighting the ironies of modern warfare.

The other main issue is the gearbox, which is prone to failure when abused. Outside that, it's operational history is pretty decent. It's no Bradley, but it's a useful system when employed correctly. The Ukrainian's are having luck with the Bradley's. They attack T-90s in teams of two and use their 25MMs to shoot all of the optic, countermeasure and everything else off the top of the tank, blinding it. Then they hit it hard with either armor piercing 25MM until they penetrate something vital or TOW. All this while the Bradley's use their maneuverability to scoot around from cover to cover. Yes it was announced earlier this year that no further T-14s will ever be produced, and they were pulled from Front Line Service. Despite never serving on the front line. Russian Military knows the T-14 was a bad tank. They never used it in anger, never deployed it to the front line, and still it got canceled.

      @Alte.Kameraden Před měsícem +3

@@andrewl9169 honestly that's not even the worst of it. A 12.7mm heavy MG can disable the turret. Basically if it gets anywhere near entrenched infantry or dares to go into an urband fight anything and I mean anything bigger than an infantry rifle can cripple it's ability to fight back forcing it to retreat.. turret armor barely exist. Basically making it a worse platform personally than the American Stryker but at an insane MBT price tag.
Any vehicle with a 20mm+ gun will make it combat ineffective almost immediately. As well.
      So..
      1. Any MBT in service can knock it out at range.
      2. Almost any IFV can knock it out at range or mid range or at the very least cripple it more efficiently than vs a T72-T90.
      3. Infantry will have little issues crippling it at close ranges.
It's a huge waste of resources in short with little if any usefulness vs what Russia is already fielding. Just about the only pro would be crew survivability would be higher than most current Russian tanks. That is only if the front armor works as they say it does. Though I'm pretty sure an ATGM will still wipe the crew being the turret is so small that all the force will likely go through the top into the crew compartment and all the crew are in the same tiny space.

But Ukraine doesn't have the luxury to mold it's army around such an odd vehicle, nor does it have the luxury of having a general with experience to make use of them in their intended role.
France should have swapped the AMX-10's with another country, who in turn could have sent Ukraine more old soviet tanks or US Bradley's.

It was the Agricultural Capital, Propaganda Capital and Nuclear Capital of the USSR. They just gave up 1,700+ nukes in exchange for lands, tanks ,S300s and other stuff. That wall that finally came down, was celebrated by everyone. They had built a wall around an entire city & nation. The USSR had created the largest prison in the history of the world. That, and communication with the other "Warsa Pact" slave states was blocked. It was called "The Iron Curtain".

All tanks are vulnerable so correct tactics with a combination of networked forces within the battle space and active defence is mandatory now for modern western tanks.
If Russia came up against the modern western NATO forces they would be up against a combined force with NATO air forces gaining air superiority.
Ukraine receives 2nd rate limited sophisticated equipment and with limited network centric and still found the Russian wanting.
NATO would crush the shitty equipped and trained Russian forces if they took them on.

Russia didn't reconcentrate it battalion, it converted them back to brigade, it was way too expensive to maintain a support unit for every battalion, by restructuring back to brigade, it gave the commander more manpower and tactical front to work with, allowing a greater concentration of force and allow the support unit to be directed to where the commander needed them the most. the battalion level battle command was orginally created with the expectation of fighting a nuclear war, in which dividing your forces to the smallest possible unit make sense to survive the fallout. however in a convention war, battalion are simply too small to offer much tactical wide, convention war has a wider front and require more manpower and firepower to break the enemy line. it seem most army in the world has resettle on brigade as the main combat unit...

Dude, you really need to research topics more before making videos. ERA (or explosive reactive armor) is not used for its resistance to AP (armor piercing) rounds. It's benefit against those is limited to just adding a few mm of additional armor the kinetic penetrator has to get through. ERA is for increased protections against explosive penetrator (shaped charged projectiles, missles, etc...). I'm sure you made other errors simple research would have solved, but I quit paying attention after this. If I can't trust you to get the simple stuff right, how can I trust you get other details right. Especially when over half of your B roll wasn't even video of the T-84 Oplat.
