At the 2023 CTWC, over 100 Classic Tetris pros gathered at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo to vie for 48 seeds. Qualifying consisted of 2 hour attempts where players would try to rack up as many great scores as possible. In a 48-seed bracket, the Top 16 seeds earn a bye out of Round 0, while the bottom 32-seeds compete for a spot in Round 1.

I'll say a thousand times: if DAS (which was originally the only intended way to play) was the only style allowed, Jonas would have been 10+ times champion at this point, with Jeff a close runnerup every year. Just today I watched 2020 CTW Jonas vs Eric ICX - hypertapper and future world champion himself. Jonas kicked Eric's butt effortlessly, with DAS. Jeff has also improved his DAS play every single year.
I think bendy is peak DAS now. Jonas will always be the goat but he would for sure struggle with modern das players.

I don’t know. Modern DAS mains are quite good. Sharky is a player that maxes regularly in comp and was the highest place Das player at both CTWC and the recent Texas regional. You also have players like Tugi, Mark Migas, and Adam Mts that are really strong too but weren’t in attendance.
