    Muad'Dib learned rapidly because his first training was in how to learn. And the first lesson of all was the basic trust that he could learn. It's shocking to find how many people do not believe they can learn, and how many more believe learning to be difficult. Muad'Dib knew that every experience carries its lesson.

      If this is a quote from the book, I need to read Dune like now.

      @@lordoftc If you haven't already you must, even buy 2nd hand. This quote is literally one in a thousand amazing quotes in the book. Book is so God damn deep and ahead of it's time, when I read it I felt it was as if it was written in our times. You could probably even read a century from now and it'd still feel new.

      @@gordonfreeman-g5w I just started reading a few days ago and it’s a bit slow so far, but the slow burn is how you know a book is gonna be good. And you’re right, if it weren’t for the author’s tone I’d have never guessed Dune was written nearly 6 decades ago.

    "I must not fear.
    Fear is the mind-killer.
    Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
    I will face my fear.
    I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
    And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
    Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

    Why recite an old Lit&Any when thou can create and embrace on its own.
    Fear is not the Mind killer...
    Fear is awareness of danger, a brutal confuse but conscious feeling over one question ! Life or Death ? Meaning or meaningless... ? Should i Struggle and suffer for something that has a deeper meaning or give away to the eternity of no more sorrows as the flesh cries out in pain ?
    That's the Question that we will all face one day, Choose Sorrow and Struggle or condamn the thought with Apathy and Lies until the last day breaks off;
    As you realise then, *Bliss* is only for those who fought these Thoughts everyday until their last breath and while both paths makes way to the same Eternity, one leaves grateful;
    The other lived headless, and left lesser... heedless with fear, C old and emp Tied .............

    The story of Dune is definitely inspired from Muhammad.

    • @ShimrraJamaane
      @ShimrraJamaane Před rokem +15

      It isn't. It is inspired by a multitude of things, though. Paul represents Herbert's experience with magic mushrooms. The Spice Melange is based upon said mushroom and their spores. The Fremen represent a mix of Native American and Eastern European groups, as well as some Arab group elements. Nearly every inspiration was based on mid-19th and 20th century history, as well as Herbert's transcendental experience. There are some Islamic elements to the story, but they are derived form the Caucasus War (1817-1864). Nothing is directly based on Muhammad. Instead, it sources a decent bit from conflicts that were forced upon some Islamic groups twelve centuries later.

      @ShimrraJamaane Před 5 měsíci

      @@walidslimani I don't understand what question you are asking. A lot of the lore includes touches of Islamic influence. Frank Herbert decided to include touches of things involved with the Caucasus War.
