His Sousa Band service predates your info as he played the 1926 tour and the "movie" tour of 1927 as well as being a founding member of the Sousa Band Fraternal Society in 1945. Many of the great Sousa Band members hailed from the Poughkeepsie-Utica-Syracuse area and I'll bet Mr. Arnold had some wonderful stories to tell! Thanks again!
This is actually above average for Hollywood. Don't know who the first guy is, but Clifton Webb does a fairly good job with his posture, embouchure and breathing. His fingerings are a little funky, but his right hand technique looks good.
My trumpet teacher played in the Sousa band from 1929 > 31. He taught my dad too.

He was Max Arnold. I was never sure about the Sousa connection until I found some old rosters on line approx ten yrs ago.
