Great grab on the five engine manifest chugging through the pass... The new cars were spectacular, but the artists are licking their chops to get a ahold of them !!
Another outstanding video my friend!! So beautiful!! A very good friend, a retired UP engineer told me that running up Cajon is one of the most boring runs on the UP. Just sitting there running at 25-30mph, feeling the heavy vibration of the locomotive can put you to sleep. 😴 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@P30CH Thank you my friend! That's crazy, how could it get boring? As a kid, this place used to make me daydream of being a locomotive engineer. I would think about all of the amazing back country that the train crews get to see.
@@P30CH I bet all of of it would be boring at night, especially when the loco is vibrating you to sleep. 🤣😴😴 A full and bright moon might be cool in a place like the pass though. Thank you my friend!
Great vid sir! Living in the east I don’t get out that way so it’s always cool to see multi loco sets grinding through those passes with those backdrops.
@Fourwheeljive thanks Robert! Surprisingly, no I haven't. I always have an eye out for railriders though. I do however catch open containers quite often.
Awesome catch man!!! Love that area so much great place to catch trains!! That last rail car wish you could of zoomed in on it, never seen that type of car before. Great video!!
@pleiku887 I though so too but when I looked at the raw footage I was able to zoom in on it. It was a bit grainy but the top appeared to be hard like fiberglass.
Uphill in 100(f) temperatures? Hope the loco cab has air conditioning that works. Also hope the cooling systems in the prime movers are well maintained. Gotta be tough railroading.
@Fourwheeljive good question? 🤔 I am not too sure. I cannot say that I have seen very many rail cars that look like that one. I wonder if anybody else that watches might know?
@@FJDad777 I wouldn't stand too close to those cars. Chinese steel is impure and can fracture without warning. skyscrapers in China have collapsed because of the girders and concrete being contaminated.

Thanks BAR! Much appreciated brother. I was thinking the same thing. 🤤🤣

@@FJDad777 I just clarified with my friend, he meant running up Cajon at night is boring. Just seeing what ever the headlight lights up. 🚂

That’s a lot of beef on that train. Must be nice to have money. I’m glad they put the new cars to work quickly…

Nice job capturing this train Mike!
Have you ever seen any hobos riding the rails?

@@FJDad777 You don’t see open box cars anymore.
@Fourwheeljive Yep! I catch'em open from time to time. 😋

Looks like tarp covered scrap car. Must be full of badness.
@isgar2266 Thanks brother! I know, I wish I would have too, I have not either. A couple of us are curious now. 🤔

Those cars are high side gondolas. You see those typically carrying fresh cotton, wood chips, fertilizer, and scrap metal.

What do you think is being covered by the white top on that end car?

Yep fresh Mexican built railcars using Chinese parts. The trucks and cut lever braces have made in china molded right onto the castings
@Ironcelt13 ☠️ Thanks for the input John. Are you insinuating that the quality control of the manufacturing process might be compromised? 🤣
