I thought you were going to sing it in an actual round. What I mean is each person singing the melody (no parts/harmony) at different times. The first person sings Dona and continues then the second one sings Dona right after the first sings Dona then the third person sings Dona after the second and so on. That's how I learned it, initially. It works really well with just the melody sung in rounds, too. I wish I could find someone singing it that way. 😢
Hi Scootermom. We do sing it like that. We sing it once in unison so people can learn it, and then next as a round.
Hi! What I meant was not singing the parts but strictly the melody in a round. By "parts," I mean the two, harmonious parts you guys sing from 0:29 to 0:54. So you'd just sing the melody itself in a round (like how row, row, row your boat is done for lack of a better explanation).
When I was in elementary school, we learned to sing it in that manner, and it was beautiful, too. I like the harmony, BTW, but I was surprised not to find anyone singing just the melody in a round like we used to. In fact, I didn't even know there were 2 harmonious parts added to Do Na No Bis until I heard them on YT. 🙂
