    Thank you so much! I had no idea what chain to use! My dad is in Oklahoma and I try not to ask too much to worry him, thank you!

    nice video but there is one thing you never mentioned about how to tighten the chain. This is something everyone using the saw should know. Before you can tighten the chain you must loosen the bolt holding the plastic cover and then turn the adjustment screw clockwise until the chain is tight enough not too loose about 2mm

    I'm missing that black screw to make the adjustment

      Darn. Wonder if you can call the customer service line and see if they can a replacement part to you.

    Hi Dad. Thank you for the video.
    My question is: there is no position for the chain when you mount it? It is the same one or the other side?

      Hey there! I’m not sure what you are asking. I’m sorry. Is there a different way to describe the issue?

      I am sorry I was not clear. My question is...the sharp side of the blades need to go just one side, clockwise. To get that, what is the position of the chain? If you invert the position, you won't have the sharp tooth going the right way. Is this correct, or does not matter ?

      Hey there. I’m sorry, but I’m still not completely sure I’m following. If you are able, I’d mimic the chain that you have in there today. There’s a small picture on the chain bar that shows you what a link in the chain should look like when the chain is installed correctly. I’ve often thought with chain saws the “sharp” part oddly goes into the track along the bar. It almost looks like it should be the other way around, but it’s not. Perhaps this is your quandary. Here’s the link to the manual if that would help? Check out page 6. manuals.harborfreight.com/manuals/56000-56999/56808.pdf

      I took a look to the manual you sent me (I did not have it), and is very clear in the figure and explanation the way you have to install the chain ("Spread the Saw Chain (63) out with the cutting edges of the chain pointing in the direction of rotation"). My doubt was I couldn't say which way it was the cutting edges, but by the figure is easy to see. Thanks so much again.

    What oil can I use in a Portland 14" chain saw?

    • @daddoesvideos
      @daddoesvideos  Před 2 lety

      Just regular bar chain oil. Should be able to find at any hardware store.

    What size is the recommended chain 9.5 or 8 ?

      Hey there. It’s an 8 inch chain. At about a minute into the video I talk about this. Thanks for watching!

    Why didn’t you show how to tighten it ughhhh

    • @daddoesvideos
      @daddoesvideos  Před měsícem +1

      Yeh. You have to remove the bolt that holds the plastic cover. Then, there’s a screw underneath that you have to turn clockwise to tighten. Perhaps I’ll do a video about this, specifically.
