- You Cannot Watch Napoleon Until You Watch This!
In this exciting journey through history and cinema, we dive into Ridley Scott's highly anticipated film, "Napoleon." Ridley Scott, a legendary British filmmaker, is known for his versatile storytelling and visual mastery. From the vastness of space in "Alien" to historical epics like "Gladiator," Scott's films immerse audiences in captivating worlds. His upcoming venture into Napoleon's life promises to be a cinematic masterpiece, focusing on six large-scale battles that define the iconic French military commander's illustrious career. This unique approach sets Scott's adaptation apart, offering a comprehensive exploration of Napoleon's rise and fall.
Before delving into the 2023 version of Napoleon portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, we take a moment to understand the intriguing persona of the historical figure. Napoleon Bonaparte, a French military and political leader, rose to prominence during the late 18th century and became Emperor of the French in the early 19th century. His military genius and political acumen left a lasting impact on European history, despite facing both triumphs and defeats. Now, with Joaquin Phoenix stepping into the role, Ridley Scott's film promises a fresh perspective on Napoleon's life, capturing the intensity of his relationship with Josephine and showcasing his visionary military and political tactics.
What sets Ridley Scott's historical epic apart is its focus on the entirety of Napoleon's life. Unlike previous films that highlighted only specific moments, Scott's adaptation aims for a comprehensive exploration. The collaboration between Scott and Joaquin Phoenix, previously seen in "Gladiator," adds to the excitement. Phoenix's portrayal of Napoleon, as teased in promotional materials, skillfully captures the complexity of the French commander. As we eagerly anticipate the film's release, join us in this exploration of one of history's most captivating figures. Mr. Phoenix and Ridley do well together!
I'm really happy someone like Ridley brought this story to life. I've been waiting for years to see an epic movie like this. And you can't go wrong with Joaquin Pheonix. The guy is an amazing actor hands down!!
Thank you for watching.
Napoleon was most likely misunderstood like many people throughout history. I am anticpating this will be a very long film

Slight error at @2:31 Corsica is STILL french territory
Thanks
I think ridley scott will get a oscar for this finally
Thank you for watching.
The film is RIDDLED with inaccuracies of all sorts. That is a definite flaw.
What about Napoleon in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure?
I've always been a lover / history buff so I am excited to see this film. Thank you.
History lovers unite! Thrilled you enjoyed the video - thanks a bunch!
I like all the costumes. This will most likely win some awards
7:16 Correction: Battle of Toulon took place in 1793, not 1763 (read out loud correctly).
Noted thank you. someone brought it to our attention earlier and we responded. Everything else is fine.
@@FlickUniverse Sorry to be a pendant, but Borodino was not the largest battle of the Napoleonic wars. Wagram was bigger and Leipzig was almost twice the size. Borodino was the single bloodiest day of the Napoleonic era though.
Ridley Scott is a gennius who makes amazing movies!
Genius for plebs maybe
I think there needs to be more historical movies out there
Agreed. Thanks for watching.
Like this cr4p? No thanks. Hollywood should keep with their superhero garbage, they ruin everything else.
thanks for always making great videos!
I love any movie Ridley scott creates, he has the mind and genius to create master pieces
Thank you for watching
No battle of Leipzig? Peninsular War? hmmm

Some corrections though -
The Siege of Toulon
1793 not 1763 ( Napoleon was not even born then )
.
Battle of Jena-Auerstedt
1806 not 1086.
Thank you

Ridley scotts best movie since aliens and gladiator !

HAHA so this little man is finally getting a real major motion picture? I know there's been others, but I feel this one is actually serious!!??
Thank you for watching
Haha little man, thats funny
Napoleon was 5'6" . Hardly little, especially in the 18th century
what a great story and great cgi
Thanks for watching
Wow this was really well said and put, love the story and transitions

Thanks for watching!
This will be good, i can tell!
Been waiting all year for this!
Amazing I love it ❤
I'm glad you like it
I feel dyslexic after reading those dates though...
Maybe you should get your eyes checked 🤷🏼♀️
Not 100% accurate. There are previous films on this subject that are without embellishment.
I feel like anything ridley scott makes , he tries hard to makr sure everything is close to accurate like gladiator
It’s a movie at the end of the day … not that serious. Entertainment only.
Sadly it’s a musical
Battle of the Nations/Leipzig 1813??? Far more important than Waterloo. Clueless video for even more clueless movie...
any movie played by mr.phoenix and or made by ridley is godly!
loved it all of it
Isn't Phoenix too old to play young Napoleon? They should cast another younger actor for Napoleon in my opinion.
I loved this!
Thank you for watching
great video, loved every second
Thanks for watching
Napoleon was not a good person. I know there's critics out there who say differently. But I know he was a terrible person.
How do you want to know that? And what do you understand by " terrible " ? Maybe you DON'T "KNOW"correctly....so you shouldn't be too sure about that !
Its in contradiction to what lots of other people " know " !!!
Im going to go watch this with some friends , we are total history nerdds
BY far the best one to be ever developed because its ridley scott
i havent the video, cause i think i got cancer 1 min in
Dang, better go to the doctor! CZcams is not good for your health 🩺
I don't know why Adolph H and Napoleon are regarded in different light. The battles will draw in the gormless.
Are you serious? Maybe the genocide? Napoleon was obviously a warmonger and oversaw some atrocities but nothing in the same stratosphere as the Holocaust. Wasn't there at least one movie about Hitler as well? Making a biopic doesn't imply that the subject ought to be celebrated.
@@paulbreen6166you are both correct . Somebody wrote a good book about it. Yes the Holocaust was primarily what was different so in that you are correct but otherwise Hitler may have been even milder! Hitler ruled with a velvet glove approach . Napoleon had no real need to start wars whilst Hitler was surrounded by enemies and had to contend with a world in disarray with Soviet Union scaring all of Western Europe so different times. Also the populations were 4-5 times smaller in Napoleon times.
I will never return to the cinema. Do the world's governments think we have forgotten what they tried to do to us? Maybe I will download the torrent, but Hollywood is dead to me.
