- In this video I' m in Lanciano, in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo, at the parish church of Sant' Antonio da Padova to document the sound of the festive noon (Angelus).
The ringing, resumed on the last Sunday of August 2023, is articulated by the chimes 3 4 5 1 on the large bell and by the descending extension of the ninth bell and the 6 major bells. The programmed sound had to be the plenum and most likely the seventh and octave were excluded from the sound because maintenance had been carried out a few months before.
The playing of the Ave Maria of Fatima was performed exceptionally for the recording and for this I thank the Parish Priest for his availability.
About the bells:
Chime of the hours - FA4 (located at the bottom right) - cast in 1878 by A. Marinelli and owned by the Marquis of Castelnuovo. Height 48 cm, diameter 53 cm.
Quarter hour chime - Gb4 (located at the bottom left) - cast in 1952 by the Mari foundry in Lanciano. Height 50 cm, diameter 48.5 cm.
The 9 concert bells mounted in a swing system were cast by the Marinelli Foundry of Agnone between 1968 and 1969 and are arranged in the following pattern looking from the front: IX in the center at the top, VIII on the left side, VII on the right side; on the side behind the bell tower (back side) we have from left to right VI, II, IV and on the side in front, again from left to right V, I and III.

VI - C4 slightly rising
V - Bb3 rising
IV - A3 flat
III - Ab3
II - Gb3 slightly flat
I - Eb3

Sì il battaglio della sesta. Ha sempre spatolato e lo notai fin dal 2017 quando sono salito. Non capisco perché non sia stato sistemato.
