I have painted a portrait of Sir Narendra Vyavahare, Ph.D in Acrylic on canvas using glazing technique. Started with a monochrome under painting with Burnt Umber and White with water as the only medium.
Later I have applied many thin layers of paint to achieve the skin texture of the painting.

5:34 Have you added water to pallete too? Whenever I add water, the acrylics behave weirdly for me.
Also, am amazed at your skills. At 9:22, You blended that white in so smoothly. Mine just dry so quickly by the time j wouldve reached that stage it wouldn't have been possible. Any tips on how to do that?

Mine too dries. I use water mist spray on my palette to keep my paint moist. No retarder or medium at all. And use colors in small amount at one time. You can try. It works well 👍 Thank you for your comment 🙏

I am really pleasantlh durprised by this form of painting wgere you are paiting with one color for base and then using the skin color tones. Why do we do this. I mean xan we not straigh away start with skin tone as u did for other paintings. Any specific affect it gives ??? Waiting for your reply

You can't handle Acrylic on normal paper. Specialy portrait. Paper will tear easily. Go for 300 gsm watercolor paper. I have many videos on my channel. Please go to my Acrylic on paper playlist.

How do I take care of the brush until I use it again after a while after applying paint? Do you soak it in water so that the paint doesn't harden?

I wash my brushes frequently during the painting process itself. Later I wash thoroughly with clean water. No extra care is needed for acrylic brushes. Thank you.
