  • This event is part of the Motwani Jadeja US-India Dialogue series funded by the Motwani Jadeja Family Foundation.
Amid a shifting and increasingly competitive global landscape, technology cooperation has emerged as a vital component of the United States-India strategic partnership. In May 2022, the two countries announced the US-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET), which was launched in January 2023. Over the last year and a half, governments, businesses, and academic institutions have expanded cooperation in both the civilian and defense arenas.
Join Hudson for a discussion on what role technology will play in deepening the US-India relationship with Ambassador Sripriya Ranganathan, Carnegie India Director Rudra Chaudhuri, Carnegie India Fellow Konark Bhandari, United States Institute of Peace Senior Fellow Daniel Markey, United States India Strategic Partnership Forum Senior Advisor Vikram Singh, and Center for New American Security Senior Fellow Lisa Curtis. Hudson Institute’s Aparna Pande will moderate the conversation.

Most of the Indian US think tank experts on the US side, like Ashley Tellis, Lisa Curtis, etc, just do not understand when they say the Indian relationship with Russia is a problem. Look, India has a hot 2-front border war with Pakistan & China. Both nations helped in various levels and formats, economically, defence-wise, trade-wise, etc, by US over 50-75 years to eventually become a hot defence & territorial threat to India. How should a realist Indian politician or citizen think about this historic behaviour of the US for its own self-interest? China may be a military threat to the US in its dominance in Indo-Pacific but for India, China is a threat to its territorial integrity, are these the same. Even a kid would know the threat from CCP to India is many levels higher than that for the US with no alliances to fight our war and if India even hypothetically becomes thankless goes cold on the Russia relationship which worked the best over 75 years when US was helping Pakistan & China to hurt India territorial integrity, would the US provide India nuclear submarine technology like Russia shares with India? US intellectuals needed to understand that India has to counter CCP on its borders with a far less technologically advanced defence force than the US has, and no one in the Western world is willing to make India technologically capable of pushing back China. India is not responsible for the CCP monster that the US self-interest has systematically created over 50 years. India has never used its arms or defence technologies against the US or its allies over the 75 years of its independence, even after being threatened multiple times over the said period...So all these US arguments as if the US is doing a favour by giving India defence or other tech 10-15 year vintage is rubbish because even from a KARMA perspective US is now compelled to help India to counter the MONSTER of CCP.

bcz they are paid by various BGOs funded by US government. They arent think tanks but narrative pushers, the pied pipers so to speak. They only do what they are told to speak by their masters.
