Where were you when I was re-enacting the 18th century?30 years later and I finally found you!

You should get back into it! The history hasn’t changed but I bet the way it is interpreted has a little! Come back!

@pumpkintown You probably don't need another British Officer in the ranks. Besides, I'd have to reorganize my kit.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by sealing wax, pens, ink and writing paper etc. I’m old enough (66) to be of the generation that still wrote letters. There’s nothing quite like getting a hand written letter. I find your content interesting and actually pretty soothing. Please keep up the good work! P.S. I am a subscriber.

That is most encouraging. Thank you kindly. I love writing letters and especially 18th century letters!

As a 16 y/o, im glad that ive been raised to love history.
Edit: with the wafer seals you never use wax with. They used dough wafers with a dab of water to make the wafer tacky and with the wafer seal design, it combines the fibers of the paper and wafer. You'd typically never send letters with wafers with relevance to any professional business. You would use wax for that sort of letter locking.

I am glad you love history too! Yes I have seen originals in wax with wafer seal. I need to make me some wafers also though. Have you ever made wafers before?

Thank you! It is how to make a wax seal not a stamp. Unless you are an engraver it would be hard to make a wax stamp. I have friends that are though! Thanks for watching
