I'm getting so sick & tired of hearing this crap!! I agree that slavery was horrible, yes slavery is horrible no one should be forced to work on fields & such, but for jesus christ the Confederate flag is NOT racist!!! Saying the Confederate flag represents slavery is just the same as saying the Stars & Stripes represents slavery & genocide of Native Americans. Let's not forget that there were many Black Americans who have fought for the Confederacy because they loved it, plus there were Native Americans, Mexicans, Italians, Irish, French, & British who have fought for the Confederacy! The Civil War wasn't about slavery, it was about taxation!

@@ZZ-xi9dp Comparing the Confederate battle flag to the national socialist flag is like comparing the United States flag to the Soviet flag.
Doesn't make sense as they all have different meanings.
The Confederate flags as a whole represent the Southern heritage and hardships.
The National Socialist flag represents an evil regime that did anything possible to get rid of ethnic minorities, such as Jews and Slavs.
Which the Confederacy didn't do, Majority of Southerners hated Hitler with a passion during WW2.
The United States flag is seen by many as a flag of freedom and opportunities.
The Soviet flag is like the National Socialist flag, evil regimes that did awful things to people, even their own.
But besides the point, What the Confederate Battle Flag means to me as a Hispanic Southerner, is my heritage and ancestry of this southern land, and what my ancestors did to defend their land and culture from the Union, I had family that were Cherokee in the Confederacy, and even whites in my family that were Confederate, difference? My white side were poor and never owned slaves, my Cherokee side owned slaves.
My dads side is Mexican and I was shocked to know a lot of "Confederados" went to Central Mexico and settled and mixed with local Mexicans, but even Indigenous, Mestizo and Criollo (White) Mexicans all marched to fight for the Confederacy too, and my great grandpa Adolfo Cano Reyes was amongst the volunteers.

Analogies are the weakest form of argument, but in the right hands it can go well, but not in yours.
There is no analogy you can make that will be equal to flying a confederate flag in a black neighborhood, because unlike rims or rap music, those things weren’t proudly displayed as representations of the people who abused the blacks and enslaved them for years on end. The flags meaning doesn’t matter, if the people who made the flag, use the flag to represent themselves, and in our eyes, they were racist people, (undeniable) who liked slavery (South liked slavery, yes.) and thought blacks were inferior (Jim Crow). So unless you have a rebuttal that makes the south completely racism free, that flag represents whoever stood under it. And it just seems to be that a lot of racists put that flag up as their fallout boy

I swear this country is sad I'm a southern American why would you stand and fight for people that are this ignorant the Confederate flag is a symbol of strength of a proud Nation where there is nothing to be proud of because of ignorance the North had slaves the South had slaves but in US history books you don't hear about the faults of Their Own they were all American soldiers and it doesn't matter how long a person fights the Confederate flag will not come down y'all are trying to change our country because most of you are not American not even if you're born on this soiled makes you American what makes you an American is to stand up for what we believe in not to brainwash just because you say it's wrong doesn't make you right

If the USA flag is not considered bad even though it stood slavery, Japanese internment, and dis-approval of same-sex marriage, it just shows that the only reason the left picks on the Confederate flag is cause it's an easy target.

CptMorgan But the reason the flag exists is that it represents the Confederate States of America, why did they secede? Mainly so they can keep the slaves on their Cotten farms, I’m pretty sure keeping slaves is somewhat offensive to a community with a large black population like that town
