Two Stackable, Sought-after Overdrives in One
Tone stacking for low-to-medium gain settings doesn't get any better when you have the JHS Double Barrel V4. The JHS Double Barrel V4 features the latest versions of two of JHS's most popular drive circuits: the Morning Glory V4 and Moonshine V2. The Morning Glory side of the JHS Double Barrel V4 is based on a popular purple-and-gold overdrive known for its transparent gain and touch dynamics. This works well as a clean boost and to add subtle dirt and sparkle to amp breakup. On the Moonshine side of the JHS Double Barrel V4, you get classic shades of green midrange-forward overdrive for glassy solos and thick chordal crunch. A top toggle switch lets you stack and re-order the JHS Double Barrel V4 on the fly, while independent Drive, Tone, and Vol controls let you dial in each tone to taste.

While each section on the JHS Double Barrel V4 sounds sweet enough on its own, the real magic happens when you combine them. Looking for a juicier crunch tone? Run the Moonshine into the Morning Glory for added gain. Want a throaty solo boost? Toggle the Morning Glory into the Moonshine, then dial in to taste. Since both pedals are contained within the same housing, there are no cables to swap and no footwork to master.

Hard not to love this pedal! I donât know if itâs the pedal or just Donâs tasty chops (or both!) that makes this pedal sound so natural. The individual characteristics of each side of the pedal comes through loud and clear and with very nice definition. Looks like a winner! Thanks for the phenomenal demo Don!

Moonshine is on a bunch of Alice Sweet Alice songs on our new album (2019 December); and it sounds GREAT with the Morning glory. If I didn't already have both, I'd definitely pick this up!

i have a question, when i use the gain on the morning glory the volume goes high, do you know how i can fix that?
Lower it with the volume knob. Itâs naturally going to get louder with more gain
Does anyone know if you can switch from one to the other or do you need to turn the first one off to use the other?
Iâm sure youâve gotten your answer by now, but you can use them independently. You donât need the Morning Glory side to be on to use the Moonshine side and vice versa

Yes if you have one on you need to turn it off to use the other, though you can switch both on at the same time
Does this pedal go good with a solid state amp?

In general, yes, this pedal can pair up with solid state amps really well, but not all solid state amps are created equal so it really can depend. Some solid state amps make better pedal platforms than others so it depends on what youâre going for. Iâd be happy to dig in to it with you if have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Don't have a Double Barrel, but I've had a Morning Glory for about a year, and just bought a Moonshine v2. Should kick ass.
I'm also pairing these with a Charlie Brown, Angry Charlie, and JHS modded BD-2. I think JHS need to pair the Charlie Brown with the Morning Glory.

chris Q, Absolutely! I have the Double Barrel on my live board along with a Bogner LaGrange. I can get a wide variety of sounds out of those two pedals. I like using the Morning Glory side to front-end the LaGrange for solos.
