  • In this video, I finally caught a pair of newly painted units in CPKC colours. After the water from the storm had subsided, I returned to the location, just east of the grade crossing. I should mention that an relief crew had been sheltering nearby in a disused trackside bungalow, after they were left stranded by an earlier taxi. Just as CPKC Train #401 showed up, another crew taxi arrived, so the shot is a little truncated. I do my best not to included crews in these videos as I feel I would be intruding into their "office".
KCS4805 is leading CP9375, both in CPKC livery, with CP8565 running in mid-train. Here are 562 axles of mixed freight. The action is caught just east of the Squilax Turtle Valley Road grade crossing of the CPKC Shuswap Subdivision at my 87.2 at CP Squilax, British Columbia, Canada.

Great video. Not a fan of the new corporate colors. What was up with the relief crew? Out of hours?

Yes. Actually two crews. The second crew got left behind, in the pouring rain, when the taxi left before they arrived. Not funny.

@@SkeenaPacific funny to hear that the two crews were out of hours as Kamloops and Revelstoke aren't that far from Squilax.

@@johnmcgarvie4061 'Stuff' happens. When running opposing trains, some up to 12,000feet, on what is basically a single track mainline, there are bound to be delays. Throw in track maintenance and inspections, pickup and dropoff of units and priority trains that 'push' by ...
