I am Ken Abroad, a full-time traveler traveling southeast Asia, currently in Sri Lanka, making Sri Lanka travel vlogs. It is my goal here on this channel to visit every country in southeast Asia and bring you along the journey.
You won’t see much tourist places in my videos, I rather like to show the “real” sides of each country in my videos. Where do the local people go to eat? Where do they hang out? How do the locals travel through the country? Stuff like that.
There will be almost daily uploads on this channel, during the next months from Sri Lanka. I will be traveling Sri Lanka, showing you around local places and try lots of different Sri Lankan food. Join the journey if you are interested in experiencing Sri Lanka now from a more authentic local point of view.

In Manila there is a German Restaurant as well. It's called München Grill Pub and it's located at Zone 72, A. Mabini St, Ermita, Manila, 1000 Metro Manila. But it seems, that they have closed it.

I have been to that German restaurant many years ago and they have a lovely dishes. I am a Chef and I have learnt how to cook all the international dishes at College in the UK. I used to cooked Currywurst with sauce, Schnitzel with Veal, Maultaschen - we make pasta filled with different stuffing. Now I used to cook British and French dishes almost everyday. Great video. 👍

German restaurant as we call it (Not the Bavarian) since it was the only German Restaurant in Sri Lanka for the longest time. Serves excellent food. Originally they did not give any bread etc but the current owners do so. Most of their dishes have been on their menu for a long time. I have been patronizing this restaurant for 25 years and the food quality has been excellent and generous. I must say their pork knuckle is one of the best I have eaten. Even better than the knuckle I had in Frankfurt.

It's normal to crave for home country's food especially when you are away for almost 3 years.Your face expression tells how excited and happy you are when you found a German restaurant in Sri Lanka. So happy to see you enjoy that schnitzel ( though not that 100% authentic ) and german beer in that restaurant with German setting/atmosphere and music. What an amazing day to fulfill that craving !!! Cool to see the correct way of pouring beer into a glass. Thanks for showing, Ken 👍👍👏

This baverian restaurant been in Srilanka for a long long time. My favourite in my younger days.😅 the way you pourd the beer, exactly the way locals do. But Germans like more froth I suppose. Out of German food my favourite is the way how they prepare Pork nuckles.

Hi Ken, Sinhala & Tamil New Year falls in 13th & 14th April. Believe u can make good videos on Sri Lankans' traditional festival; how we make authentic traditional Avrudu sweets and preparation, festival celebration during the auspicious time, we have traditonal game events called "Bak-maha Ulela". Though Sri Lankans have tuff time at present , hope people celebrates the festival in a big way, as we got stuck last two years with the Covid pandemic. Most of people in Colombo visits their patents/ villages to celebrate the festival. Some villages still celebrate the festival in the same old style/traditions. Thank u for bringing Sri Lanka to the Globe. Wish u all the best for ur journey. Stay Safe!

Don´t worry about the beer and the "Schaum". I bet not all beers in Sri Lanka are as fresh and have the correct temperature as in Germany. Would be cool to see your hometown when you go back some day.
