So today we will learn if all Kanekalon Hair is toxic or dangerous. This video is in response to the Kanekalon Hair should be illegal video and the second video on this topic. The two Kanekalon hair fibers we will discuss today are the Flame Retardant Polyester and the Organic Collagen Fiber. So many complain about having a kanekalon hair allergy, so how safe is Kanekalon hair?
We will discuss how Kanekalon hair fibers are made with Polyethylene terephthalate and Regenerated Collagen and if they are toxic to our health or the environment.

Hi! Do you have any suggestions for human braiding hair? I've tried to Google sites that sell something like that and all I can find are wigs.
What are your thoughts on doing an Apple Cider Vinegar wash on Kanekalon hair?
@@cocomilch2804 it can remove some of the coating that some people are allergic too but it’s not a perfect fix

We basically have to choose our poison....the ingredients in makeup are toxic so I choose to be completely makeup free aside from light lip gloss. However, I wear synthetic box braids that I pre soak in vinegar. I figure I don't go for overkill since I gave up makeup due to its toxins.

I agree. The more you know, the more you can make good decisions to change what you can or want. Because literally everything is toxic, from your washing detergent to soaps. Even candles, clothing, drinking water, and food. It's crazy. I am trying to get close to Amish if I can. Lol

If y'all gonna use braiding hair, make sure you soak the kanekalon hair in apple cider vinegar first for an hour and cool rinse until clear before installing.

That won't change the chemical composition of the hair. The hair is still toxic even after you soak and wash it.

Some Yarn have acryl in it and Acryl is toxic. So be careful. I am not sure is it ethical to use sheep's yarn, so better use cotton.

I buy the x-pression kanekalon hair for customizing dolls. I always wash it and then boil wash it so it goes pin straight so I can use it. That also makes it super shiney and bouncy. I have noticed that there is what I thought was a sort of product in the hair that comes off the hair after washing. Now I'm wondering if that is a chemical they put on the hair. All in all I'm wondering if it's safe to use on my dolls or if I should switch to a new fiber.
If you look around Etsy, you should be able to a find a number of cheap alternatives to Kanekalon for dolls. Many use goat hair but it can get expensive. Sorry I don't know more - good luck!

I know there are banana fiber hair which is expensive but is there any real wool fake hair that could be used for braiding not the wool stuff that comes on a roll that synthetic

Research people for yourselves to get a true understanding to make the best possible decision because given certain situations and conditions toxity may differ from gas state to liqiud state to solid state etc. Also, consider the safety data sheets for these ingredients. For example at a liquid state among workers this may be highly toxic but at its normal solid state it's relatively safe for consumer use. Again dig in for yourself to fully determine. May God's peace and wisdom guide you as to its safety at its current state worn. What may be unsafe in one state can be safe in the state to the purpose of its use not giving off the high toxity as it would if otherwise. There's a lot of information out here so look on government sites safety data sheets including the Japanese government since Kaneka Corp is in Japan, and not personal opinion ones that may magnify fear in ways not needed. All of this gave me peace so I encourage you to do the same.

I just know that ez braid is a non toxic braiding hair brand. Spetra ez braid not spectra.

human hair isn’t any better. the person who had that human hair could’ve had bad energy and energy can only be transferred, not destroyed. so putting that human hair on your head could make you act up or start feeling a certain type of way negatively for no reason.
Human hair is treated with material and/or chemicals as well unless otherwise stated by company. Which puts us back to drawing board of being clear on what those materials or chemicals are.
@@paula-oi5cd you can always sage (with a smudge stick or sage spray) the hair, real or synthetic, to cleanse the energy 😇

There is tree fiber braiding hair but it's really hard and expensive. I just use human hair. It cost a lot to but you can reuse.
It looks like EZ braid and Spetra are owned by the same company or affiliated?? I went on the Spetra site and they referred to EZ braid and also had similar messaging... Thanks for sharing this information...
Does this apply to Xpressions hair as well? Can't find much info but they are made from Kenekalon fibre as well, not sure which one though...🤔
soak your hair in acv or white vinegar and warm water for 15 minutes, a film will come off the hair. soak the hair in shampoo and conditioner then let it air dry.

Yes because it’s what the hair is made of if you must use hair, try hair without all those chemicals or use human hair wash it first

Hello everyone I think you should definitely look into trying yarn for braids and also it also it’s good for doing twist as well. But I just found out about it like a few years ago and I think it’s a little bit more safer than using kanekalon hair And I feel like yarn hair has some cons about it but I think it’s more safer to use on your hair than the other type of hair and it does tend to get caught on your hair And more... But I can’t go on it does look even more real as they can looks and get older. So we should definitely look it up I think it’s very interesting and I did you a couple videos that show how to braid your hair with it and also helps with your hair with it and it looks really lovely and I’m definitely going to try it out And it’s a little bit more cheaper than using kanekalon on your hair. Why not just wear ure hair as it grows...cause I dont get what is being protected if u are never going to wear ure hair...back in the day people had hair without needing to add extensions

For me it's the fact that I have a tendency to pick at my hair so wearing extensions is very helpful for my hair growth. I cannot justify spending the money on human hair so I'm just outta luck.

Most synthetic hair is hon that's why it smells like chemicals fresh out the pack. It might have different ones since freetress is both kanekalon and toyokalon iirc but either way they're both not good for the environment.
