Hi Brian! I believe that leather suits like the Missile, GP Pro v3 and above and the Fusion have the same strength as all have the same AAA certification, but repairing a torn leather suit is easy. Repairing synthetic fabrics of Fusion suit is impossible because these fabrics aren´t available on the market. BTW, my GP Pro V3 is hot like a very, very hot hell.
I agree repairing this suit will present some challenges that may make replacing it the best option. With that said the additional cooling may be enough to offset the potential issues with repairs. - Van
That is some high-tech shit. Nice to see some cool innovations in track suits. I'm no racer just a track day geek but I would love something like this that is light and vents well. Bumping 60 and I don't move like I used to. :)
hi brian, i really enjoy your detailed deep dive with which you approach your product reviews. far beyond the other yt channels. 👍 i was wondering, now that some time has passed since the introduction of the alpinestars fusion technology, does it hold up to the expectations? is it really as durable, abrasion resistant (or at least close to that) etc. as leather in crash scenarios? because it still sounds too good to be true, if i'm being honest. do have any information in that regard? all the best!
Would this be the best suit for hot weather / climate riding? Trying to work out which suits are the best venting is difficult. Would appreciate any recommendations for hot climate suit options. Respect the attention to detail this channel puts in it's videos.
With the perforation and the Matryx material this suit offers a ton of ventilation. This may be the most ventilated suit on the market today. Thank you for watching! - Van
What a great review as always Brian. I picked this suit up yesterday at the MotoGP race at COTA. It was nice to be able to try the suit on before purchasing. I haven't had a chance to ride in it yet but looking forward to it (hopefully tomorrow). 5'7".....170lbs Bought Euro 52/US 42 👍
You always make such informative videos. Bought a SP-1 suit from you guys years ago its too tight now, put on about 15lbs so I'm ready for a new one, plus id like to go with a Tech Air. This suit looks like the one for me. will we see more new Alpinestars suits with this new Matryx material by April 2022 thats when track day season for me start again
Hey Brian, I doubt you’ll see this. Im new to this kind of gear. Since the tech air 10 has just come out should I get that over the 5 and is it compatible with this fusion suit?
“There’s just a lot of new shit!” “We going to continue to talk about it because is super bitchin!”😂 I like to watch your introduction videos You are down to earth bro.😎
Perfect video, guys. How does this compare to the Alpinestars GP Tech V4? I haven't been able to find a video review of it. I see they both share some technology such as the new MATRYX panels in different areas, etc, but how is the fit and mobility (the Fusion suit looks slightly more relaxed compared to the Tech v4 if I had to guess)? I'm just doing track days, no actual racing, but I'm looking for the most mobility.
I know I’m probably late, but which suit would you choose between this one and the GP tech V4? I live in the south so it gets hot and wouldn’t be club racing. Just using suit for track days and for riding on the back roads. Thanks in advance!
The V4.1 gets you all of the protection and most of the ventilation while saving you a fair amount of money. If ventilation is your #1 concern I would give this suit a shot. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Thanks a lot Van. If I watch your reviews I dont need to go to another source to make a decision to buy gear. Keep up the great work.
Great review. I have the new Tech Air 10. There was not way about put my usual size 56 AStars suit or Dainese suit on with it. Have you tested with the Tech Air 10?
We have not worn this suit with the Tech Air 10 here at the shop. My Son Max has a Tech Air Race and Tech Air 10. He can switch from one to the other without adjusting the suit size. - Van
Great content as always, does the suit come with an R1 hahaha, on a serious note I’m searching for a liter bike and I’ll definitely hit you guys up for the suit.
Thanks BV, looks great. If the fabric is more resistant than leather, do you think alpinestars ever will make a suit mostly out of that (replacing the leather parts of this suit)? I ride some keprotec/Kevlar garments on the street and the airflow/comfort is crazy good, would be great to see in a track suit.
There’s now an Italian cie providing full textile suits: virus power. On paper looks very tempting but can’t find reviews. Hence followed Max advice and ordered an 4SR. The other option was RST v4.1 but I find the design too sad

Here is another suit that offers a massive amount of perforation and will also flow a ton of air: RST Race Dept V4.1 One Piece Leather Race Suit www.sportbiketrackgear.com/rst-race-dept-v4-1-one-piece-leather-race-suit/ One thing to consider with the Fusion suit is if you have a crash and it needs to be repaired any damaged Matryx panels will need to be replaced with leather or traditional stretch fabric. - Van
I appreciate your review of this suit as I am interested in buying one. I'm wondering if you would say this is a peak summer suit due to the level of ventilation? If you're out in cooler weather would you feel a chill compared to a different suit?
Hey Brian, I watched this and your video on the A* gp pro abcdefg rideknit jacket that you did and said it was probably the most comfortable leather jacket you had ever worn. How would the jacket version on this compare to that jacket? Again the Fusion Jacket not the whole suit? Thanks for all of your informative videos!!
I have not seen the jacket personally. In the US it looks like Comoto is importing it for their outlets but it is not available to other dealers. - Van
Its more expensive than the alpinestar atem v4. I though atem was like the best protection before going with the gp tech. Atem v4 have the high tech shoulder elbow and knee slider that this one doesnt have.
@@sportbiketrackgear Hi Van, Long time customer. I am currently comparing the Atem v4 to the Fusion as I am looking at getting a new suit and the Fusion seems to have the cheaper spec knee protection which seems odd considering is so much more expensive. It has no pad on the inside of the knee, so its likely the leather will get damaged by my tank pads like my old track pants did. Would you mind expanding on your comment/comparison here as aside from tech air the atem v4 seems better?
I wear a 1st version missile ignition suit in a 54 and would like a little more room, I ordered a missile v2 in a 56 but wasn't comfortable with the extra length in the arms and legs. Is the extra room the 54 Fusion provides noticeable compared to the ignition suit in 54?
The very first version of the Missile was available in 2 different cuts. If the suit you had was the first cut it would fit like a true 54.
