    Another one: three driver memory is more than most need, so I set the #3 button to help get in and out - seat all the way back, seat higher, steering wheel full forward and full up.

      For sure Thomas, I found these cars fun at every angle and thats part of the charm. While some competitors are dropping in knick knack gadgety electrics to dazzle at a superficial level, this car has significance from Exoticcar performance, style and charm in the exterior design, fun party tricks like the reverse hood,, rising dash vents, and dynamic exhaust played through the exhaust and not the speakers as some modern day bimmers. This and the 911 are a couple of the nicest options out there for a tad over 6 figures.

      Cool, thanks, I will have to follow up there Chris as I have not yet had to do any changes myself. Sometime the suppliers change the name for marketing reasons so it may be worth checking. Likely being a gas engine and the same weight and synthetic, I would generally say not an issue, but I know its important for Diesel engines to have the right ingredients due to heavy soot.

    Handy video summary MArk,
    Apparently if you don't let them know (not to) the dealers in North America, when doing a service may do a firmware update - which removes a lot of the snap, crackle and pop.

    Thinking about making the Jaguar jump. Would the F-Type make a good daily driver? Considering a used 2019 with the supercharged V6. Would go V8, but a little pricey for me. A little worried from one of your other videos about the water leaking in the car. Did you find a remedy for that?

    • @markholubetz
      @markholubetz  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi, I think these cars make great daily drivers except for pricey parts like tires and brakes. Odd strange failures but the Awd and the right tires mean it can be versatile. The leak? I have not done anything with it big have not noticed it much lately so who knows. Some of the woes come from relatively low production numbers but the other side of that coin is you do not see many around making them more unique.

    Definitely DON'T go with Michelin 4Ss. They have been the worst tires on my F. Constant flats. Constant bead separation. Last night a front tread shredded on the road, I was really lucky I wasn't going fast. I had replaced both rear 4Ss when they both failed within a few days at around 10K miles. The Cup 2s I put on have been much better tires, but still not as hooked as I would like. With the F waiting on a tire shop to open, I think I'm going to go with R888Rs all around. That will mean going to 315s on the rear, which will look great but gear worse. Tire choices are limited for this beast of a drag racer.

      For sure, sounds like a must have especially if travelling further distances.

      @@markholubetz typical warranty covers the repair if able to repair the tire, if not most cover a pro rated amount for the replacement of the tire. Always check the fine print in the warranty, but even pro rated amount for some expensive tires is well worth it.

    I have a (UK) 2014 5.0L AWD 550ps convertible. If you lift the bonnet fully open and stand a short distance in front of the car you will see that it forms the 'jaguar' logo. btw my spoiler lifts up... I know that because I did it by mistake and thought the boot was open....

    Snaps and cracks and pops are made by dumping fuel fume into exhaust, which disintegrate the catalytic converters before 10 year 100k miles standard most cars have.

      That could be true, but maybe a sport cat to replace may be the way to go and a tune to support.

      @@markholubetz or something I just learned first hand. This is for US car owners. Under the Federal Emissions Warranty, all emissions related parts are covered for 2 years or 24,000 miles*, with the catalyt ic converter and engine control unit (the computer) covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles*. The Federal provisions cover light-duty vehicles up to 8,500 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). I just got my cat replaced free of charge on my 2015 F Type R with 54,000 miles. That was definitely a pleasant surprise and something I believe most car owners in the US are unaware of. It applies to all cars sold in the US undee 8500 lbs gw, and it doesn't matter if you're the first or 5th owner.

    The rear left tire has low tire pressure. So that’s how I transitioned to washing the car. And the …. JFC - everything so far has been boring stuff.
