- From creator Molly Smith Metzler and inspired by the best-selling memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive by Stephanie Land, the Netflix series Maid follows Alex (Margaret Qualley), a single mother who escapes an abusive relationship only to find herself desperate for a better life for her daughter (Rylea Nevaeh Whittet). Taking a job cleaning houses while trying to keep from being homeless and figure out her next step, Alex’s resilience is tested every step of the way while refusing to give up on a better future.
During this 1-on-1 interview with Collider, which you can both watch and read, Nick Robinson (who plays Sean, an alcoholic who often becomes abusive, leading Alex to wanting better for herself and their daughter) talked about what appealed to him about this project, the scariest thing about taking this on, what he’s learned from the variety of roles he’s done recently (including Love, Simon and A Teacher), understanding Sean’s toxic behavior, and his favorite scenes to shoot.

Maid was perfectly cast and masterfully acted. Binge watched.
Same..and in like two days lol
After seeing "Maid," there is something particularly relieving about seeing Nick Robinson as an actor and completely different person from Sean, the abusive piece of shit that he portrayed in the show. Just to see him and hear him as Nick, not Sean, is so nice.
He played Sean to perfection.
i’m not gone lie.. i heard nothing that he said the first five minutes, cause all i could think is “this man so damn fine!”
Hahahah I thought I was the only one here
The voice and everything is so distracting 😅🔥
The kiss between Alex & Sean was truly a powerful scene, great chemistry.

He was awesome portraying Sean.
I swear any show I watch with nick robinson I never recognize him. Top tire acting 🔥🔥
A huge thank you to everyone involved in this show. One of the best shows ever filmed imho.
Okay but he’s FLAWLESS 😍😍😍
he's soooo handsome
Good interview!! Great series with a strong message, eye opening. Amazing performances.
He is so good in this
Margaret Qualley wears a Free People wardrobe in “Maid” (hundred dollar Ts etc) which was distracting, but Robinson was really good in it.
I wish him a super career.
Wonderful. Thanks!
love watching him speak
I was really hesistant to watch this until one day I had left no choice. The first episode got me hooked already. This show is a fucking masterpiece.I can say The best show netflix ever had. Im mad its only a limited series with only 10 episodes. I just wanted more of them,Margaret and Nick had such a hot chemistry
Well, his character wasn't "in a toxic relationship." He was an abuser. 🙄
toxic just means dysfunctional and unhealthy. they were in one. he was an abuser.
Toxic does not equal two-way.
He remains me to Harry Styles when he said "um" A lot 😂😂
I couldn't help feeling bad for Sean in the end... he was really trying hard..
Was he tho
@@Al3jajandra yes I felt so
Yessss the fact he gave for custody of maddy to Alex showed that he was trying to actually really change
Same here
I felt so bad too. You can tell he’s battling with his inner demons and it shows a lot of maturity to admit to that. I wish Alex told him some positive and encouraging words before she left.

AWESOME
Wow 👏
Nick is beautiful 💗💗💗💗
love him
I agree he was an abuser. I hate to think that she brought it out of him. She led both him and nate on in different ways throughout the show. She'd set a boundary and then seem to toe it herself. This show isn't so black and white and that's why it's so good. She was trapped but some of it seem self imposed and that's what makes her human and very likable in my opinion. (BTW I'm only on ep.8)
