Excellent video of your elbow at work. Perhaps you should consider getting a different camera angle so the rest of the world can see what your actually working on.
bernie10315 I apologize for the bad video, I believe your relay is near the starter on your engine, should be able to follow the smaller red wire from your starter back to the relay then test for power output when turning the key.
Wow. The ONLY video on CZcams about "how to replace the Starter Solenoid on a Yamaha Outboard"... AND IT WAS LIKE WATCHING YOU DO IT FROM 500 YARDS AWAY through shakey Binoculars - over your shoulder! GREAT job. 😕🤔😧 Personally, I think you did it ON PURPOSE. (GOTTA KEEP THOSE OVERPRICED MARINE MECHANICS in business... RIGHT?) 500 thumbs down!
Appreciate the video but I don't think you understand that the people watching isn't as smart as yourself in this area. My motor just clicks one time and doesn't even attempt to turn over. So my question to you sir is that is my problem with my starter or the solenoid???
@@hurleystowing checked fuses up at the key switch? Should be one on the red wire in the harness, if not just run a jumper from your battery to the red wire to see if it works. If it does you have a break in the harness somewhere.
It would be a big help if you describe the steps you took in removing (?) the relay.
Does same relay also power the trim. Same clicking happened on my 150hp with both the starter and the trim.

very informative...
Anyone know how to find out what relay is needed in a VMAX 150 HDPI Yammy--2004 model
Agree with mort, frustrating, couldn't see. Could barely see the relay. I have the clicking problem now with my F115TXR.

Jay's Wild Ride let's go!!!!
what is the part # on that relay?
Mario Markou I believe it was 68V-8194A-00-00
My F115 Yamaha clicks for a few seconds every time I shut the motor off, which brought me here, anyone have any ideas?
Very hard to see what you're doing. Need to change your camera angle to show what you're doing. Audio ok.
TK Mort thanks for the feedback, hoping to improve my camera skills as I go along. Sorry if it wasn’t helpful.
