- This showcase is an introduction to Beta 1 of our Traverse Town mod! Beta 1 is the first version publicly available, ready to download on the Nexus right now: www.nexusmods.com/kingdomhear...
This Beta only includes the First District for now. This is for players to start testing and exploring the mod, and to give us feedback so we can make it better as we keep working! Not all intended features are included yet, and some things are broken/missing. Please make sure to read the full mod page before playing.
All new assets were created by me from the ground up, except the plants which were brought over from the Twilight Town map in KH3. The KH1 Traverse Town maps were redesigned in a KH3 artstyle, using zBrush, Maya, Blender, and Substance.
All coding and logic work is being done by Critic, who this wouldn't be possible without.

your skill cannot be overstated. the whole environment is beautiful and fits perfectly in kh3
That's ridiculously impressive! Looks just like it should in KH3. It's really cool to see it's possible to actually add new worlds to the gummi ship maps, hopefully other modders will be able to add other fan favorites as well. Big thanks for your hard work, i'll certainly use this mod in one of my future replays of KH 3.
adding the world to the gummi ship map is probably the easiest part of all this XD
This... This is truly beautiful and nostalgic. This may be the only way we'll ever see traverse town again and i value this.

A map is a place on which 3D actors are free to go anywhere they'de like, but also full of objects that are meant to be interacted with or that communicates an information.
As far back as I can remember, everytime I played video games I couldn't help looking at some specific places in maps, like a small alley in which you have few furnitures, a small object, a little writing on a wall... Some very small detail left over somewhere, maybe in a very old video game that "no one plays anymore", and that one day it took few minutes to a certain person to work on this detail, and that you can go back to the game look at it as many times as you'de like.
You're one of these persons now, thanks for sharing your work and for reviving Traverse Town on your own.
As much as I’d rather have new games than a KH1 remake, this does evoke an emotion in me.
Hopefully it'll be as extensive as DDD Traverse Town map-wise, that'd be dope
This is beautiful, the final product will be one of those must have mods like the coliseum mod.
One thing that i personally think would make the mod better, is to scale up a bit the space. The enviorment seems a little too small compared to every other world and sora's speed is probably set for wider spaces so he looks like the flash while wandering around ahah
You can’t even tell that this is a mod! Fantastic work! Just like the Olympus Colosseum mod looks great! It be cool if you were able to add the dream drop distance rooms but that would be hard to do I imagine!
This mod is literally a work of art. It captured the whole vibe perfectly. And don't even get me started on the fact that this is all fan made yet it looks pretty much how we could imagine Traverse Town in Unreal Engine. Great job man loved the mod and hope to see more of Traverse Town in the future of this awsome project.

Imagine if you made kingdom hearts 1 in kh3 with side quest in each world like the post cards or finding all the clues in wonderland but the clues just give you items, now that would be cool

This really makes me want to see a KH1 remaster. Don't touch the story, voice work, etc. Literally just a visual upgrade.
So Traverse Town doesn't show up on the world map yet or will it show once you visit the world and then leave

It's been awhile since we have heard of this mod. I do want to ask a few questions.
Ther is à way to add new complet keyblade slot in inventory ?
I know it would be a ways out, since you're more likely focused on getting everything done visually first, but would it be possible to use the footstep sounds from the original KH as the footstep sounds here? it would be an auditory blast from the past.
I remember seeing this a year ago. It was amazing then, and is still amazing now! I gotta ask though, is it still in the works? A year has gone by, and no posts.
Still in the works! Started a new fulltime job in the last year that takes up most of my time though, so this is worked on only when I have time outside of that/the rest of my life- it's slowed dev time down unfortunately.

Question to you Caleb Moore, will this map also have the areas from DDD Traverse Town as well after finishing up KH1 TT?
That’s what he claimed, I can’t remember if he said it on twitter or on the nexus page. Pretty sure I saw it somewhere. He said it took him 6 months to get to this point…so it maybe be another half year or longer before we see any other updates..
At his rate kh modding Community will create kh1 and kh2 in kh3
