      Very true. Fashionable, I suppose, to some. They may be OK for relatively dry climates but where I am it rains quite a bit and very heavy at times. That is where the problem comes in...heavy rain. The trough inside cannot handle the water flow at that rate. 4 windows and an AC is on the money!!! LOL

      @EddieCarrara1  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi Hayley, the rear drains are tough to get to but usually drain behind the rear tires, so you'll have to pull the side panels back in the hatch area to locate them. You'll need to pull them out of the body grommets, the grommet is usually a rubber tube that fastens to the car body, it holds the tube in place and then connects to the bottom of the drain tube. Let me know if this helps.

    • @EddieCarrara1
      @EddieCarrara1  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Kwestt, Try water testing the vehicle just at the top of the windshield, don't let water reach the sunroof and notice if you're getting the drip on your visor. This will eliminate the sunroof possibility. Let the water run out of the hose without the sprayer, you don't want to force the leak. If you don't see any leaks after 10 minutes, try taping off the top of the windshield to the body and then water test the sunroof, if it leaks, try pouring water into the sunroof try like in the video and see if that leaks. Let me know what you find. It sounds like the top of the windshield is leaking but this procedure will help pin point the leak. Let me know what you find, thanks.

    Help, I have a 96 Honda Passport. Water is leaking onto the floor on driver side. My car is parked on a declined driveway with the nose of the car down. I pulled back the carpet and I see a rubber plug and a nut and bolt on the underside of the auto in that area that I think may open up the plug to drain out the water, but I’m having a hard time loosening up that bolt.
    There is a rubber strip that runs horizontally under the hood at the back end right below the windshield that is detached in some areas. I think this is allowing water to get passed this rubber strip and then travel down into the driver side corner under the back corner of the hood and it is flooding the floor under the break pedal. 4:37

Let me know if you need more guidance and keep me posted on what you find.

There are 2 black plastic strips that run from the back of the van to the windshield on the roof. Hi BF, if you can see the clog in the tray you'll need to remove the debris clogging the drain or use a straightened coat hanger to clear the drain holes. If you can't see it you'll need to use light compressed air, you could actually try canned air like for cleaning your computer keyboard. Let me know if this helps.

    • @EddieCarrara1
      @EddieCarrara1  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Naron, first determine if they are clogged or if you have a different problem. You can use light compressed air down the front drains and up the rear ones if you can locate the drain tubes in the rear of the car.

      @@EddieCarrara1 i compressed some air in the tubes they seem to be clear.. But it seems as if the water takes very slow time to go down the drains so if the water overflows it would drip from the visor around the rear view mirror part.
      I also notice when water overflows in the roof visor thats wen the sunroof gets full cause the water cant drain down so i took the visor off

    Hi I have a 2005 Chrysler 300c. I noticed the passenger rear floor and under the passenger rear seat were soaked, then found the passenger front floorboard was wet, but not as soaked. No water in the headliner, pillars, firewall or trunk. Not sure where to start diagnostics. I’m pretty sure it’s unrelated but much eco engine came on with a small evap leak code around the same time.

      Hi Nathan,
      Are you using the AC right now, is it still hot and humid where you live? If so is the AC evaporator ( nothing to do with your code) draining under the vehicle (passenger side front floor)?

      @@EddieCarrara1 there is. More on the passenger side. I just pulled all the seats and snaked/flushed the sunroof drain tubes all around. The passenger was blocked/clogged. We had a heavy rain so I’m wondering if they all backed up/leaked inside.

      @@nathanlevigraves If you leave the seat out to dry, try filling the sunroof tray with water while the front of the vehicle is pointed uphill and see if the water is backing up into the vehicle's rear seat or if it's draining behind the rear wheel. Keep me posted on what you find, thanks.

    My sunroof is leaking via the passenger safety handle halfway down the front windscreen. I can see it dribbling. Does that mean the drains are split or just blocked. No one wants to help me fix it and my car is very wet

    • @EddieCarrara1
      @EddieCarrara1  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Miriam,
      Your windshield seal may be leaking or the sunroof drain could be split or clogged lol. You'll need to lower the headliner in the corner and peek up there with a flashlight to se where the water is coming from, or try using light compressed air in the drain located in the sunroof tray. A lot of times the drain is clogged at the top, so just inspecting the drain and cleaning it at the top may fix your issue Let me know if this helps or if I can answer any other questions Miriam, thanks.

    Anyone know where the rear sunroof drain exits are for a 2016 Ford Expedition/Navigator? (2007-2017 models)
    If they're anything like the front sunroof drains, which drain into the rocker panel (BAD design, Ford!), they're impossible to get to ... I've dug into the wheel well area and removed a lot of the interior trim to no avail.
    Also, I saw another video that shows a fix for the Ford Expedition roof leak, is actually the roof rack screws allowing water in to the headliner. I'm gonna fix that, too. But I'd like to be able to clear the rear sunroof drain tubes too ... when I park facing slightly up hill, there's no way the front sunroof drains are going to capture the water ... so I just park facing downhill for now
    (update) just found a thread that comes really close to addressing my issue/concern above: www.f150forum.com/f118/10-minute-sunroof-leak-fix-409873/index3/

    • @EddieCarrara1
      @EddieCarrara1  Před rokem

      Hi George, I'mm not sure exactly where your drains are located but most rear drains are located in the rear quarter panels. If you peel back one side and look behind the sheetmetal you should be able to see the location. The sunroof tray is double the length of the glass which should give you an idea where the drains start. Let me know if this helps.

    • @EddieCarrara1
      @EddieCarrara1  Před 2 lety

      Hi Curby Harry, the seal around the glass isn't 100% water tight, that's why the manufacture installs a catch tray with drains below it.
